Our family of seven (plus the grandparents) is going to WDW for the first time in October. I have spent the morning making ADA's and would like for someone to check my plan to make sure I am not overlooking something obvious...dh is not even remotely interested in this planning stage  , so any suggestions would be appreciated.

10/2 Sun. Arrive early and head to MK for the day
Possibly dinner at CP or LTT (CP is booked, will continue to try)

10/3 Mon. Brkfst at Chef Mickey's 8am
MGM day
Dinner at H&V or possibly Ohana's

10/4 Tue. Possibly brkfst at Tony's Town Square (grand gathering)
If I get the TTS, we will stay at MK for morning, if not then Epcot
Possibly dinner at Ohana's

10/5 Wed. AK day
Breakfastosaurus 8am--how long to get from CR to AK?
HDDR at 5pm--does this give us enough time at AK???

10/6 Thu. Epcot day
PSB at 8:30am
Alfredo's at 5pm

10/7 Fri. Open--probably MK or Epcot

10/8 Sat. Possibly brkfst at CM's
DTD for souveniers then home

Is this too much planning? too little? any other suggestions?

Thank you for reading!

I think it looks really good.

I would allow at least 30 minutes to get from CR to AK. I think busses from CR share with GF and Poly so it might take a while, then to get into AK and walk to Dinoland takes about 10-15 minutes (we ran it in 5)! I speak from experience! You should have enough time at AK, but you'll miss the parade with your HDDR so early. You might want to go back to AK and catch the parade on a free day if the mood strikes you. It is a really good parade.

I think the rest looks good. You need to fit some breaks in there, especially for the kids and the grandparents. I can stand all day at AK and MGM, but not MK or Epcot. Definately try 'Ohana.

You've got breakfast at CM's listed once and then again as a possibility. Why not try 1900 Park Fare for breakfast since you are on the monorail route anyway?

Also, if you are wanting to see Fantasmic, you might want to stick with H&V. If you leave, go to 'Ohanas and try to come back to MGM for Fantasmic, you probably won't have enough time.

Try to find out when Spectromagic is too and try to see it. It's fantastic!!

Have fun!

Your plan sounds great to me. I will be there the same week. Here's my plan so far:

Sat Oct 1st: Arrival at 6:15 p.m. Check in at POR Riverside with Dinner Reservations at Boatwrights at 8:15 p.m. Then just walk around and check out the resort, maybe a swim and into bed for a good nights rest.

Sun. Oct 2nd: 8:00 a.m. AR for Donald's breakfast at AK. Spend the day at AK and either DTD or Boardwalk in the evening.

Mon Oct 3rd: DS day. 4:00 AR at Mama Melrose Fantasmic Dinner Package (hoping to get a later time). End with Fantasmic.

Tues Oct 4th: MK day. Quick breakfast at resort, lunch at either Noodle Station or Columbia Harbor House for a light lunch and the CRT for a 5:40 dinner. Watch wishes.

Wed Oct 5th: Epcot day. Check out F&W Festival and Dinner at LeCellier at 7:00 p.m.

Thur Oct 6th: Relax day at pool and maybe DTD for some shopping and lunch at Earl of Sandwich. MNSSHP at night with AR at LTT at 5:45.

Fri Oct 7th: Return to anything we missed.

Sat. Oct 8th: Check out and head to whatever we missed. Flight leaves at 7:10.

I am pretty certain that on Sunday, Oct. 2, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) will be going on that night. If you are not familiar, this is a separate event that require a separate admission. You don't mention that you're going to this, so if you're planning on staying late/having dinner at MK that day, you may be suprised to find out that MK will probably close at 6 pm that day. Hours haven't been released yet, but if you look back at last year & years past, you'll find the park closes in time to get set up for that party later that night.

That being the case, you could plan your Ohana dinner for that night. Going from MK to Poly after park closing.

That would also allow you to stay at MGM & Epcot the following days instead of leaving the parks to go to a resort (Ohana) for dinner. That way you wouldn't miss that evening fireworks (Fantasmic/Illuminations) shows.

Just a suggestion on how to maximize that time you have there while still enjoying a variety of restaurants.
