I need help on deciding when to go to WDW, the first week of october or the first week of november, I've read about jersey week and the food and wine festival but I'm still undecided on when to go, does it rain alot in october, what about the heat? :cheer2:

I'm not sure if they will do it again, if its standard practice or what, but when we were there in 2004 October was PACKED; it was the year Florida got hit hard by the hurricanes and Disney had encouraged everyone to rebook for October. Someone with a trip report from 2005 may have a better idea though.

We are booked this year for Nov 3-12 and the phone CS CM's have said that it should be very slow at that time, however if they kick off another celebration it'll likely be the beginning of November, so it could fill up quick. :confused3

We were there two years ago during Thanksgiving vacation....BUSY!! We were there Nov 10 - 18 last year and it was busy the weekend of the food and wine festival at Epcot but wasn't bad at all during the week. We are going this year from Nov 9 - 18 !! I am hoping and praying that it isn't busy this time either.....

We have gone the last 5 years in October (roughly from the 20th to 30th).

If you want warmer swimming weather ...October. Food and wine festival is very cool...October. Does it rain?...yes... but rarely all day. Hurricanes are still an issue in October. We were there last year when Hurricane Wilma hit. The parks and transportation were closed for the morning the day it went through. It was very windy and rainy but by the afternoon it was great and everyone went on as usual. The only negative about that.....the hurricane left many people south of WDW without utilities and schools were also closed because of this. These families then came to WDW while things were being cleaned up. This made for a very crowded WDW. In my opinion though October in general has gotten more crowded each year. The other plus about October though is MNSSHP.

Our family was there the week of Oct 9th, 2005

The weather was very hot and rained very little

We went the week before Thanksgiving and it was great! The longest wait we had on any ride was Splash Mountain, about 20 mins :cool1:

has anyone been to WDW the first week of october/novmber, I'm more concerned abouth the crowds than bad weather.

In August when we went last year there were showers and lightening every evening during our trip. It never rained when we were in a park apart from the final day when we were in MGM and it poured down, but that was the day when Hurricane Katrina had hit Florida.

Does it rain every evening?
