October or December?

My fiance wants a December wedding. He said Disney is beautiful at Christmas, and we should go then. I think October is better. For one, if we check in by Sept 27, we can get free dining! Two, the weather will be great. I'm afraid December will be too cold. Also, Thanksgiving is late this year. It's Nov 28. So, having a wedding the first week in Dec would put us the week after Thanksgiving, and airfare will be higher. I think October is less crowded.
I need people who have been both times of the year to chime in with some helpful advice so we can pick a wedding date.

we flew on thanksgiving a few years back and it was very busy the week after but then it was fine, we flew on 24th in 2005

ooh me and my DF and his family are flying out to orlando on sept 27th this year for our hols!

hmmm it's a toughie... i originally wanted to get wed in october as like you said it will be lest crowded but the weather will still be nice, however ive moved mine to may now lol

if money was no object i would def marry in dec... always wanted to marry on new years eve as it's my fav day of the year but disney flights and accom are way too expensive to expect both of our families to do this, not to mention the wedding minimum spends are astronomical so i'll never be able to do that.

i know what you're saying about the weather but it's not gonna be like it is in the uk (i mean, snowing in march, it's ridiculous lol) and the christmas trees and pretty lights will look beautiful in the pics.

you've got to do what you want to do though, let us know what you decide.

If you can, I'd say do it in December! There's decorations for the Holidays everywhere, and special shows at the parks as well as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, plus special fireworks! Not to mention the parks are open later at night.

All of that was the big deciding factor for us when we planned our wedding. It's definitely something you don't want to miss!

I vote for December as well. Dec is a huge month for me, though, and I'm partial. We adore Disney in December, it's so beautiful with the Christmas lights and the atmosphere is wonderful. If you schedule it right the crowds are low and the weather has always been very pretty when we're there... light jacketish.

My vote is for December. Our wedding is in December..so maybe I'm partial lol. But we LOVE Disney at Christmas time. Its SO romantic. And believe it or not, the 2 weeks before Christmas are MUCH slower than October. October is considered a high-volume time.

Just thinking about Disney at Christmas makes me all warm inside...

I have never been to WDW at anytime other than January however, I have been to Disneyland many times. If WDW is anything like Disneyland the decorations will be up well before December. Maybe comprimise on November. Late September seems to early for christmas decorations though. But in Disneyland they put it all up right after Halloween. So the whole month of November has all the good stuff. Maybe call WDW to check when they get all their big stuff up. I had my date picked and told people and then changed it last week! It's very hard to pick one day isn't it???

We're hoping to get married the 2nd week of December, mainly for the weather and the decorations. We plan on flying out a the end of Thanksgiving week, having a week before the wedding to sort stuff out, get married the following week and then a week's honeymoon.

We are anticipating the crowds to be busy the first week but we will be sorting stuff out for the wedding so that is ok, then the next two weeks should be quiet (and cheap) for accommodation.

I love October but I think it would be too hot and a bit humid for some of our people flying from the UK.

Oh, maybe I'll see you there!!! We're booked for December 12th!!!! We went the second week of December last year and it was in the 80s all week!!! We had the best time ever and we can't wait to get married there, too!!! Yay for December brides!

We were married October 15 and the weather was perfect!! The crowds weren't bad (except for MNSSHP).
December is definitely beautiful in Disney - but I wanted it to feel more like Disney than Christmas so although we had thought about December - we went with October.
I'm sure whenever you choose will be perfect!

Another vote for December. Crows were really not bad, usual wait time was 15 min, sometimes walk ons. Some odd days we did have to use fastpass, but were not the rule. However, as someone pointed out, id Xmas decorations are up since November, you can still have the magic Xmas feeling

How awesome!! We'll be getting married Dec 18th...and our colors are blue,silver, &white!!!
