Okay. Disney friend and I will be going to the world this fall. I would like to go mid October, she is opting for beginning of November. DH and I were there last October and loved it. Low crowds, great weather. I have never been there other than October and August. Anyone traveled in November and can give me pros and cons of both. Time is running out for the decision making and I want to make the best choice.
We will be staying a week, probably at POFQ although I would prefer BWI. Yesterday we went on Disney.com to get a quote, but they said no resorts were available for the dates we entered. (We entered several different ones). I am assuming that is because new codes are coming out very soon. (Maybe tomorrow?) Would appreciate any input.

I am a BIG believer in NOV!!!
Hurricane season is over and the weather is just the best!!!

Lower crowds than Oct and value season rates! Oct is regular season. Even with shorter park hours you can easily get everything you want done.

My suggestiojn for this year is Nov16-23
You totally bypass Jersey Week, super soap weekend, Vet day and Thanksgiving is not until the following week this year. Check your calendar. This particular week gets my vote! Too bad my passes will expire by then.

When is Jersey week? I have heard about this. How bad are the crowds? What about super soap?

Jersey week is sometime between the first and second week and right into Vet day weekend (super soap is Vet day weekend). I will be there only because my passes expire 11/11/02, but if I had my choice, I would not go then. After all, the reason for going in the fall is to avoid these kinds of situations. You would still have shorter park hours then , too.

How is the weather that late into November? I have been to Disney in early December(6-12) and remember it being very cold at night but can't remember much about the day time weather. Is it warm enough for swimming during the day?

I went during NJ week last year and it was fine! We left for home on Veterans day. Lots of people have to work on Veteran's day - it is not a big holiday like the 4th of July or Thanksgiving. I find it extremely funny that people on these boards thing NJ week is a crowded week. I guess it is a good thing because they want to stay away that week and it will be even less crowded!!! I'm going again this year 11/5 - 11/12. I'm more concerned with Soap weekend at MGM but I will just stay away from MGM on the weekend. I also think that people go to disney at a low attendance time thinking they will not see many people walking around - there are always a lot of people walking around!! The wait time is short for the attractions though! I know the first time I went I was shocked at how many people were walking around - I was under the impression that not that many people would be there the week after Thanksgiving! We walked on most attractions so there were not many people in line for stuff. So don't let NJ week scare you away if you want to go in the beginning of Nov!!! Great weather!!

Don't count on codes for BWI in Oct/Nov. That is the time for the Food & Wine Fest at Epcot (begins Oct 19, I believe). VERY popular festival. DVC rooms at Boardwalk and Beach Club are completely sold out and have been for quite a while. Folks want to be able to walk (or stagger?, LOL) back to their rooms after sampling wine all around the World Showcase. While we are DVC and don't pay much attention to cash rooms, I'm figuring those are popular also. Disney is not too likely to discount rooms if people are fighting for them at full price!

I went last year over Veteran's day weekend as well. Crowds were not a problem, but remember that was 2 months after September 11. As for weather, it was beautiful during the day...warm enough to swim but not too hot to prevent enjoyment of the parks. However, once the sun went down, it did get chilly enough to require a sweatshirt (I still had on shorts, though). We swam one evening in the pool and I did not find it too enjoyable, the water was fine but the walk back to the room was quite chilly!!!

We were there last year Nov 2 to 12. That was part of that "Jersey Week". We really didn't notice any change in the crowds. The weather was wonderful. Only (1) cold (high of 67) day with rain in the AM.
