considering going in October and was wondering how busy it is, I know they consider October Regular season now . Was thinking October because of food and wine fest and lower temps then Sept. What do you think ?

We have gone the past two Octobers. You are right about lower temps, weather is perfect! Last year was more crowded than 2002, there were a few new attractions and the Food and Wine Festival ect to draw more people. I'm beginning to think it will turn into a regularly busy time, but I think it is worth it. The Halloween party is great fun too. We utilized Fast Pass, and avoided EE days and did fine with the crowds. That' s what most people say they do during busy times. If you go, enjoy!

Last October was busier than normal because of FTP (which is why we went). Temps last October were in the mid-upper 80's and the parks were fairly crowded though nothing like the summer months. In MK there is MNSSHP (which we did), and Epcot has the Food and Wine festival. Don't worry, as mentioned, using FastPass and 'planning' what you are going to do makes it that much more easier. Have fun !

My DH and I have been twice in October and it's our FAVORITE time to go. Weather is beautiful and the two times we went, the crowds weren't too big. Actually, the last time we went, the parks were so quiet - DH rode Rock n' Rollercoaster 3-4 times in a row (no wait).

We were there this past Oct 4 - Oct 11th. It was busier than I had planned, and HOTTER than I had planned. The humidity was brutal. The crowds were busier due to the FTP and the fact that Wishes was just starting. They also had a few press events that week, so we were forced to deal with early closings. It was still not as busy as it seems to be during "busy" seasons, but busier than I had planned. You should be okay this year, unless they offer another FTP.

When people say busier than usual, what do you mean? Like what kind of wait times for rides are you talking about? We are thinking of going mid-Oct. 2005, so I'm interested in crowd sizes as well.

how about the last week of October? Is it usually busy and/or hot/humid?

We went from Oct 16-23 last year. I thought the crowds were great! We waited the longest on Test Track - even with a fast pass we waited 25 mins. But that was it. We used Fast Pass alot. And my crew was flexible - if something was really a long wait we either came back or skipped it. We found good spots for parades and fireworks without problems. Plus the weather was great !! Comfortable temps / little rain.

we flew home @ 10/11 & the crowds were getting progressively busier,I think the longest wait was probably Space Mountain-60/75 mins, which is long when the 2 weeks previous you could expect 20/30! You tended to find that if you get there for opening the park didn't start getting busy till around midday.
I wouldn't have said the start of Oct was any cooler, just drier & more predictable! I would still expect it to be high 80's.
British schools have there mid term break in the middle of October so the parks will get busier
SD:tongue:

We went at the end of Oct last year. We did MNSSHP on Halloween night-- it was soooo HUMID!! It was in the mid 80's everyday of our trip. Other than the party-- the crowds were really managable. Never waited more than 20 minutes and most things were 5-10 minute waits.

Hoping to go this year too-- DH doesn't want to go in Sept-- to close to the start of DS;s school year. I would like to go earlier in Oct then-- but afraid Columbus Day will attract larger crowds.
