October Hours

Hello Disney Gods,

I have yet another question. The hours are posted for the beginning of October but not the end. Do you think the hours will be the same for the entire month of October or will the last week be drastically different?

It's hard to tell. Weekends is normally 9-12 and weekdays 10-8. But there has been a lot of talk about weekday hours of 8-9 (including the recently posted dates online). So you could always call Disney Dining at 60 days out and they may be able to tell you, or give a best guestimate based on PS hours.

Thanks HydroGuy! I. too ahve a trip for the last week of Oct. At least I now have good idea what the hours will be. Except...I wonder how the fireworks schedule will be. When I looked at the listed days schedule there are no event times posted. Curious!

Weekend fireworks are at 9:25. During the week for Halloween I believe they are about 7:45 (per a disboarder that called Disney).

That's what the castmember told me she thought they were going to be. They have not been scheduled yet. I'm still holding out for later hours for DL on the weekdays.

7:45pm would be a good time for a weekday. We plan on going to see the fireworks on Thursday, Oct 29. That would work out just fine. Have an early dinner (in our one Bedroom DVC Villa) then head to DL to catch the fireworks. Hope it won't be too busy!

Oct. 11 (Sunday) 8AM - midnight MM-7AM
Oct. 12 (Monday) 8AM - 11PM
Oct. 13 (Tuesday) 9AM - 9PM MM-8AM
Oct. 14 (Wednesday) 9AM - 9PM
I'm pretty happy about these extended hours, but I guess it means they expect the park to be busy.

Thanks so much for this info.! We will be arriving on the 18th and when I called for our PS's, the CM wasn't sure of the park hours yet, but it appeared that on the weekdays, DL would be open at 9 because of the 8:00 P.S.'s that the CM had available for Minnie's. I kind of have mixed feelings about this too. It'll be great to have extended hours, but the early opening on weekdays probably indicates the expectations of larger crowds, as you said. It'll be interesting to see what happens. I think the nightly fireworks will increase the crowds on weekdays too.

Has anyone visit during that week before? We are scheduled from october 11th 'till the 15th but I never thought it would be a busy week.

Any idea why? Any other tips for that week?

I imagine they expect this year to be busy because of the extra Halloween attractions such as Ghost Galaxy (Space Mtn) and the Halloween fireworks. We are looking forward to Haunted Mansion Holiday which we haven't seen for a while as well. I haven't heard yet whether Fantasmic will be running during our stay, so am anxious to see when they post the entertainment schedule.

Don't forget that October 12th is Columbus day. Lots of schools will have a 3 day weekend.

I'm from Utah and we have a big Utah Educators Association conference (called UEA but also known as Utah Escapes to Anaheim) on Oct 15th and Oct 16th. We are going at this time but I am hoping that UEA will not affect DL as much this year as the state is pretty much split in half this year with UEA. The north part of the state is having UEA on Oct 1st and 2nd and the south part of the state is on Oct 15th and 16th from what I understand. Apparently there are alot of students from Arizona that are out of school during this time as well....so it should be fairly busy but hopefully not CRAZY busy.

Fantasmic! is running through the end of the year, although most of the times it will only be over the "weekend" (Friday, Saturday and Sundy). So, most likely it will only be showing the first night of your trip Oct.11. HTH!

So am I to understand that in October, fireworks will be running on weeknights as well as weekends? I am about to get my hopes up but can anyone verify if that is what they are going to do??

The park hours are on the calender for our dates, however does anyone know just how long we will have to wait to see the full entrainment schedule? I would love to know what times the parades and fireworks are during our stay as well.

it has been really frustrating to have to wait so long for the hours for our trip 16-21. Now its only been 2 years (last year was wdw) but I remember them posting hours sooner. Or maybe I am just doing more planning now that we have younger kids that nap. We are really upset that storybook land, and casey jr are going to be closed those are great rides day and night.

So by reading the post it looks like the 16th will be a busy weekend too - thought Oct was an off season ...maybe there isnt an off season anymore unless you go in the winter.
