Back on the Boards for the first time in a while as about to plan my fourth October half-term trip. Best time for us given schools etc.

We have to go 24/10 and then come back 1/11

My crew are very keen to go back to a 2 bed villa at OKW. We'd like DDP. Looking at flights am thinking of flying into Miami and driving up - done it before, stopping on the way up, and it works fine...especilly if you want to save a grand!

But my planning skills are a bit dusty so I have a few questions I'd appreciate help with
- Is my Miami thing the only way (direct) to get flights sub £700? What do others do?
- Where can you make $ reservations - so as I can take advantage of the current XR
- Any idea when free DDP might be available again?
- How do you get discount codes?
- Where is current best place to get good rates for on property?

Thanks all!:cool1:

Free dining has gone for UK offers - it may get offered for US bookings in the next couple of months.

At the moment Disney UK is offering a room only discount - you would need to work out if the room discount or free dining is the better deal for you as it is unlikely that both will be offered together again for this year.

If you want to book through Disney US I would use a US travel agent such as Dream Unlimited as they will check for the best discount for you however with October travel there are no discounts yet - they are currently up to June.

Thanks Elise, very helpful

So where the UK Disney site says 30pc off that is a real discount?

Do you have any view on which are the nicest villas

We went October 2013, flew out on the 27th from Manchester. We got flights with US Airways via Philly for just under £500 each. If you don't mind connecting then it's fine. We only had a 2 hour layover going out which went in no time with going through immigration etc and a 1 hour connection on the way home. :goodvibes

We booked flights yesterday 28/10-14/11 £500 and adult i know not yor dates but virgin have a sale on so uou might get lucky

Yeah flight prices direct now seem to have gone through the roof around the 20th oct-25ish, we got lucky and got the 22nd oct -6th nov for around £500 each which was great.

Us airways indirect seemed to be around 1490 for 3 people for them sort off dates but that was last week, maybe worth looking at, that was from manchester. not sure where you want to fly from.

Hope it all works out well and you get something.

Thanks!

Weighing up via miami vs. indirect - indirect not popular with the family....

Flights done!

Went for indirects via Toronto, 2 hour layovers, £600 a piece - bargain! But at least thats done and time for planning!

Always feel panicky until the flights are done

Looked at 20/10-01/11 with aer lingus was £3256 for 2 adults 2 kids!!!! Virgin £2600. Havent looked at indirect yet. Just looking as originally going december. Ridiculous.
