I'm looking at going out around the 12th and returning the 2nd Nov. I have never been at this time of year before so the prices I'm seeing are looking horrendous to me!:scared1:

I want to get three weeks, incorporating one of them as half term so only taking 10 days out of school then.

Do you think I am likely to get something cheaper nearer the time?

There has been reasonable fares but I suspect most have booked for Oct now so less availabilty, can't see you getting a good price direct but you might pick up indirect as a fair price.

Just found a good one from BHX indirect with CO, £563 going out on the Friday the kids break up. That is a decenty price I think, plus we don't mind the EWR route either.

I have a £500 limit for indirect. Last Oct I didn't book until 2nd Oct to fly on 21st Oct, just 3 weeks before we went, paid £490pp with American Airlines who give you enough airlmies for about £50-70 of free hotel with each flight so really flight cost about £430ish

I'm with Wayne - that's far more than we would be willing to pay IN the school holidays, never mind flying outside of them in term time. We've been three times in the last four years and have paid £330, £340 and this year £420 indirect - although this is looking at Easter school holidays. £400 is my benchmark.

October is very popular.

I shifted my dates to Mon 22nd to Monday 5th November indirect from Manchester to get it under £1500 for the 3 of us (Delta)

We are restricted with our shop as to when we can go, also didn't want to take the kids out of school this year for more than 10 days, which is what our school allows. I love November - it's actually my fave time of year to go, but we are busy in the shop through Nov and Dec so that kids of throws that one for us. We have no staff either so it's hard to get cover.

I am thinking that we might not make a trip this year now. :sad2:

But will put the money towards our house move pot instead
