October discount last year

What was the discount last year during October? WE went during free dining in late September, but we are now thinking of going around Columbus day weekend. Hoping for a discount better than AAA - 15% on deluxe property.

I remember going last year during Oct 28-Nov 4 and a "code" was released so I received $195 back for each person (we had 6 in our group). We stayed at POP with dinning plan and 6-days base park tickets. I was very happy with it.

It was a pretty significant discount. We had two adults and one child staying at Pop with a 7 day park hopper. No dining. And we saved $386 with the code!

Discount last October was, roughly, 25 % off the rack room rate for us. They would not tell you exactly what the discount was, but that's about what we figured. This was at POFQ with 3 adults, 1 child in the room. We stayed 5 nights, and saved about $300 off rack rates on our package. (I don't remember the exact #.) It definitely beat the AAA rate. Disney would not define it as a room discount, simply as a package discount, but 25 % off room rate was about what it amounted to.

Need to ask a stupid question. We are plannig a trip for October. I am gathering we should book what we want, and then if we find out about a rate or discount code, we can call back and have it applied to our reservation?

What is the best way to find out about the codes? Keep checking this site? Thanks for any help!

I applied the code to my package when they were released it with no problem. (They refund my card the savings.) I would keep checking here on DIS and I also check mousesavers.com every day.

Yeah. Last year the code came out in August so I'll start checking every day in the end of July. Then you call and they apply the code to your package.
