Hello Fellow Disboarders!!! :wave2:

I am a newbie to WDW as I have never been before and I am planning a trip for next October 2010 (Weeks are flexible). I am so ultimately confused as to where to start planning. I can plan a Disneyland Vacation with my eyes closed as I know my way around the best times of the year to go for crowd levels or for holidays etc.

I was just wondering how crowded WDW is in October usually. Do they do Mickey's Trick or Treat like DL or do they have other events that draw in larger crowds? What would be a good week to go for lower crowds?

Would the end of September early October be better? :ssst: I am looking at many WDW travel books but I figure that you guys are a way better first hand source.

We went last Oct. and are going again this Oct. the week after Columbus day. There were crowds, but not bad at all. Yes WDW has Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party, the ticket is a special purchase for certain night in Sept. and Oct. The party starts at 7pm and closes at midnight I think, they usually let you into the park after 4PM with your MNNSHP ticket. Also in Oct. is the Food and Wine Fest at Epcot. I would think the Columbus weekend is the most crowded time in Oct.

We are going again this year in Oct. I love it there then! We will be coming in on the 8th and staying for a week. We are doing MNSSHP for the 3rd year. We love it! The crowds are not bad at all in fact last year when we went we rode several of the rides over and over without getting off of them at all! We had a GREAT time. We are finishing up all of the plans we have made. Finishing the shirts, autograph books, passports, gifts etc. I am a planner and I love to be all excited about the trip before we go. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.:goodvibes

We go to WDW every October as my daughter is on the year round school year and has fall break in October....the crowds aren't too bad...it is a bit crowded but we never wait more than like 20 minutes for say Peter Pan's flight...no wait for It's a Small World...just wonderful...they do Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party here...it is so much fun...the weather is fantastic and the crowds are doable...we love it

sept is the end of hurricane season in FL. this is our 2nd trip at the end of sept - early oct. MNSSHP is lots of fun. holidays always have more people. the crowds are moderate the rest of the month (20 min waits usually).

fyi - there is almost always some promo code for sept. travel. airfare is cheaper in sept too. b/t sept 11 fares and cheap fares b/c of hurricane season, its just cheaper to travel then. example - its usually $400 a ticket to fly out of my little airport. in sept i was able to get a ticket to MCO for $175.

b/t the cheaper rates and the lower crowds, im all over that.
