October code expected?

I'm reading about the possible free dining in September and I'm trying to decide whether I want to go then or whether it would be best to avoid that time period. If we didn't go at the end of September, we would go in October instead. Historically, have their been any codes or special promotions during October? I haven't paid rack rate for a Disney trip for so long that I feel like I need some kind of discount.

Last year there was a code we used for on-site stay in October. It was 20-25 % off the rack rate. (I don't remember the exact percentage.) That code came out in mid-August last year.

However, I am confused by your original post. You want to avoid free dining because it means to you that it will be too crowded? Just so you know, October will be more crowded than September, even with the free dining...but October is not super crowded as long as you avoid Columbus Day weekend. We went last year and had a great week. The only negative to September is the weather. (Heat and possible hurricanes)
