seems you have the magical extra time rate, since when i put in our dates of sept 26 to october 3 it comes back at 240 $ 12 noon pickup/dropoff

if i do it with one hour extra for my week rental it comes back at 175$

I have to use Enterprise for my area and for the 2nd through the 12th mid size SUV it is over $500 without insurannce...

I can't get it down with them ever but they are the only game in town..ugh

You would need to pick up by the 6th. My dates are 10/3-10/10, I was able to get an intermediate car for $186.30. Not a great rate but it is about as low as I've seen. Combine that with the ability to use the kiosk (which I love) and it is a no-brainer.

Did you use the coupon with that? I was able to use the $20 off coupon and came up with $164.38 for a mid size.

I got a great rate from Thrifty. I used the corporate code 004m001010 and got a rate of $148/wk for a mid-size for a grand total of $378 for 14 days. This includes an additional driver and unlimited miles. The code was from the orland magic card. I download the free card just to have in case I need it. I don't think I'll do much better then that. I was expecting to pay around $500 for a midsize for 2 weeks. I might do the upgrade to full size for $90.00.

I just upgraded using some coupon codes and a walmart code and was able to get a premium for only $100 more and that still includes an additional driver. I'm going to watch the last min. specials because I notice that it is $100 cheaper if I would rent in the next 2 weeks. I would have to give up the additional driver but my husband drivers all the time anyway.

Any new updates to report? I have been trying Priceline for Oct 2-10 with no luck in getting anything reaaly cheap yet...I have been trying for an economy for $8-10 with no luck so far.

Last minute deals are out at Alamo and National, through 10/13. Not great rates, but better than they were yesterday. I am at $332 intermediate for 9 days. Double what I usually pay for 8 days.

Avis does not give a firm total but an estimated total and does not show the coupon discount. The pretax and fee total is $106 for for 8 days. My total rental cost should be approximately $150.

We arrive on 10/28. This rate is for an compact. We can get by with a smaller car this time since it will just be just me and two 13 y/o girls.
