Does anyone know when Disney will post their October Calander?
Right now it only goes thru Sept.

The October calender is up, but it only displays ride closures.

I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of the info, such as opening & closing hours and parade & show times.

October is only 2 months away! C'mon Disneyland, what's the holdup with the October calender?!!!

Waiting here too...I remember we ran into this same issue last year with the October calendar taking forever. Maybe October is a harder month for them to plan out with all the school breaks and MHT and stuff, who knows? I hope they hurry it up though. I'm anxious to start planning. :yay:

Waiting here too! I emailed them last week asking when they expected it to be up and they said 10-14 days so I would assum it should be up next week sometime. We went the same time last year and I remember the calendar not being up until the middle/end of Aug. I can't wait!!!

We will be there 2nd week in Oct, Wed - Fri. Anyone know the chances that Fantasmic will be showing on Friday night?

Another person waiting. I hope Fantasmic will be on Friday as we will only be there Weds through Friday and that would be our only chance . . .

Darkbeer, on Mouseplanet, reported that October 1 is the beginning of the parks' fiscal year. I'm just going to quote him here:

Actually, the new fiscal year starts October 1st for Disney, and in the past, the Hours and Entertainment are only announced a few weeks ahead of time (around Labor Day).

I would use the hours of September 23rd (last week of the current posted hours) and use that as a guide, it should be pretty close, with the exception of some earlier closings for DCA due to the Special after hour events.

He also reported Oct hours should look like this:

Typical Disneyland schedule, 10 AM to 8 PM during the week (Monday thru Thursday), maybe closing at 9 PM. Weekends are around 9 AM to 11 PM.

DCA hours are a bit more difficult to explain, the typical off-season is usually 10 AM to 6 PM Monday thru Thursday, and 10 AM to 9 PM on the weekend.

But Disney will be hosting a seperate ticketed event at DCA on many days, Mickey's Halloween Treat (MHT).

Here is the list

October 5, 12, 19 and 26 — 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
October 4, 11, 18, 25, 29, 30, and 31 — 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

So that makes DCA's special hours 10 AM to 6 PM on Fridays in October

And then on the other days (October 4, 11, 18, 25, 29, 30, and 31), and the park will be open to the public from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Saturdays in October remain 10 AM to 9 PM (Disney doesn't schedule MHT on Saturdays to allow at least one late night), and 10 AM to 6 PM on the other days that no MHT is scheduled.

I spoke to a CM about Fantasmic in October, and she guessed it would have the same showings as late September... which means no Fridays... also a bummer for us, as we are leaving Saturday afternoon.

Last year in October, Fantasmic only showed on Sat & Sun nights.

But I sure wish it was shown on Fridays too. We're also going to be there this October, Tues-Fri and leaving Saturday early evening, so we'll miss it. Kind of a bummer.

We are also Tues-Fri (leaving Sat afternoon) and from wheat I've read regarding October schedules, I am not planning on Fantasmic or Fireworks. If they show on Fri, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm also waiting! Looking forward to seeing the October schedule, too.

OMG, I could just burst waiting! My kids have even gotten to the point that the first thing they say in the morning is "check to see if the October calendar is up on the DL website!"
I am a compulsive WDW planner where I would even have started packing by now not to mention have every minute planned. This is just e-x-c-r-u-c-i-a-t-i-n-g for me!!!:upsidedow

I emailed Disney about the calendar and got this response:

Wouldn't today/tomorrow be mid-August? :rolleyes1

I sure wish they would release the calendar for October, because that brings me closer to the November calendar! :cool1:

Yeah, I didn't really understand how she didn't know when it would be up, but try calling back a few days later. I guess because it should be up any time now. Maybe they're running behind schedule and don't want to make promises, in case something goes wrong. I'll just keep checking a couple times a day, like I'm doing now. lol I've got the planning bug in me.:cheer2:

Disney's fiscal year runs October through September. You will not see a calendar until around the first week of October once the budget has been established and the plans have been made.

You mean the first week of September, right?

I mentioned this same fact several posts back, but noone really seemed to notice or care.
