October Busy or Not ?

I am going to disney 2nd week of October, The Unofficial guide says its a very slow time except Columbus day, but when I called to get a Reservation for Dinner they said its a very busy time, Whos right ? Is It Busy, and how Bad are the parks on Columbus Day? Thanks

DH and I have been many times to WDW during the 2nd week of October because it's our anniversary. We have found that although it is becoming more and more popular, this time of year at the parks is still very manageable. Columbus day does get a little more volume since there are more locals there so we usually just avoid MK that day and we have not had any problems with huge crowds.

It's true that around Columbus day it may be busier (long weekend, etc), but the month of October is still a rather busy month. Don't worry, it's not crazy busy..., but WDW does have MNSSHP (Halloween Party in MK), and the Food and Wine festival in EPCOT. These two attractions do draw higher than normal crowds. We did MNSSHP last year and though the parks were crowded, we had our schedule planned ahead whcih included our PS and we stuck to it and we're able to see and do everything we wanted.
