I'm thinking of going back to DLRP in October halfterm, which will be the week of Halloween. However, we won't be buying our APs until end of May, and I really wanted to stay room only in a Disney hotel. There's no way round this is there? Either I have to wait until after May and see if there's any rooms left for what will no doubt be a busy week, or I have to book offsite. I can't book a package with Disney and then change it to room only without penalty?

I think at some of the offsite hotels- Holiday Inn, Explorers - you can cancel without penalty if done so far in advance so you could book one of these then try to get onsite afterMay. If succesful cancel the other if not then you've got your room booked.

i think at Holiday Inn there are different prices- look at their website- and I think it may be the more expensive which doesnt allow you to cancel
