We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby in December so we will be canceling our Dec trip. We are considering moving it to October, which we have never done. How is the weather and crowds? I have always wanted to try MNSSP but what else is going on during October?

Also at this point what might my accomodation choices consist of? We must have a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom would be fine.

Any thoughts?

My hubby and I were in the world last October. It rained almost all week, but that's ok... I'd rather be in the world with rain then sitting at my desk at work when it's sunny!!! It was much more humid than I expected it to be. The temps were in the upper 80's all week. The parks were moderately crowded except for EPCOT, which was extremely crowded. The food and wine festival was going on during the time we were there. We went to MNSSHP and had a good time... although the parade was cancelled because of... (you guessed it) rain. All and all, we had a pretty good time and would try October again. The next time we go, I would like to do more things at the food and wine festival :goodvibes

Weather and crowds are fine, and yes, there might be rain. If you are thinking of doing this, do it soon though, because DVC fills up quickly in October with F&W festival going on.

Congrats!

I've been trying for the past month to book a DVC at WDW during Oct. using flexible dates. Here's your choices...

SSR, SSR, SSR, and a 1 bdroom-Preferred view at BWV starting Oct. 10.

We broke from our usual December trip a couple years ago and went in October instead. We weren't disappointed in the least. MNSSHP was fabulous--the adults enjoyed trick or treating even more than the kids I think.

You won't be disappointed

We went this past Oct and had a great time. Only had one shower the whole time we were there. Crowds were light. MNSSHP was the bomb! :cool1: Going again in 37 days and a wake up - can't wait! Would love to go again in Oct, only it is hard to pull the kids out of school every year!  Probably do it again in Oct 2007! You will love it!

We were there in late Sept early Oct this past year, and with the exception of Rosh Hashana weekend, the crowd level was really good. We did both Food & Wine and MNSSHP, and loved them both. We totally thought MNSSHP was worth the extra $ - we had so much fun! F&W was quite enjoyable too, though we didn't do any of the extra events, it was fun just walking around trying the different offerings from the little kiosks and listening to the music. We'd go again at that time of year. We had a bit of rain here and there, but it was really hot compared to temps we're used to so the rain felt great to us. We were some of the only nuts out walking around during the downpours, while everyone else huddled in shops, lol.

In 1997, on our first trip, it poured just about every day we were there. This was late Oct, going into early Nov. We were also there in Oct 2004 and the weather was beautiful. So you just never know.

We went October 17 last year and the weather was good and really not much rain. We have decided to go again this year. After reading how hard it was to reserve, I called today and got a 1 bedroom at VWL. I just told them I didn't want SSR or OKW because I've already been there, but I would take any studio or one bedroom they had. I am really looking forward now to trying another DVC resort. Can you get meals from the restaurant there - Whispering Canyon I think, to go?

We were there last October. We got there the day before hurricane Wilma hit. It really wasn't that bad. We were all in the parks by 1:00 and the sun was out. It was a little chilly for a couple of days but not too bad. We never did get any more rain after that. We went to MNSSHP and loved it. That was our first time to do that and we really want to do it again. We also did the F&W Festival. We love to see the differant bands and sample all the food. I didn't think the crowds were too bad in the beginning of the week but towards the end it got a little crowded because people were coming in from further south where the hurricane hit much harder. I didn't think it was bad enough for us to miss anything. So try it and have fun.

Go every year in Oct for F&W, thats why I own at BWV.

Congratulations! We love October at WDW. We were there last year the second week (after Columbus Day) and found it not too crowded at all. I found it extra hot but as soon as we got back from our trip I also found out I was expecting so that may have had something to do with it. F&W is wonderful, even though you won't be having any wine the food samples are yummy and we love MNSSHP.

Congratulations! I have been in your shoes! In 2003 we planned our first ever December trip. I was so excited to be going to WDW at Christmastime. Well low and behold...here rolls May 2003 and found out I was pregnant due in December. So much for our Christmas trip! :teeth:

But decided we still needed a "babymoon" so we thought we'd try October. We'd never been in Oct before and I must tell you...that was probably the best trip we'd ever taken to WDW! It was fantastic! The weather was absolutely perfect the entire week. F&W Fest was fun...we stayed at BCV so I could just walk back and forth between the WS and the resort. I took lots of breaks off my feet and just people watched while DH went to get food samples. We had a blast. I did go back to the room each afternoon for a nap and a break from the sun. We enjoyed the resort more than any other trip too.

Good thing we moved our trip up to Oct too! My DS was due Dec. 30th but made an early appearance Dec. 10, 2003. That would have been the last day of our originally scheduled trip!

Well, this year we've decided to try our December trip again. My DH is wanting to have another baby soon and I keep saying that we are waiting until December to try! I just want to see WDW all decorated for Christmas!
