October AKL Reservations - Phone Call Today!

I received a call today and we are heading to the Animal Kingdom Lodge on October 10th. We were staying in the Concierge Level Deluxe Room and told that those rooms would no longer exist with the construction. At first they offered to switch me to another resort. I told him the whole reason we booked the Concierge level for one night is that we wanted to do the Sunrise Safari the next day. He said we could stay in the AKL but that we would have to move to another room and moved us to the Club Standard Room.

I kept asking him is that the Concierge and he said yes but I thought I would get confirmation from our DIS friends.

If you stay in a standard club level room do you still get a savana room since this is what we requested?

If it is pretty much the same it works for me since it saved us about $110.

You can still be in concierge without booking a Deluxe room but the deluxe rooms were the only ones that will house 5, do you have 5 in your group.

No. Only three so we should be fine.

You will be fine. All of the concierge rooms have savannah views right now at least. The only diff between the deluxe and standard rooms is the standard room is a little smaller and does not have a day bed. You will be fine. To me, unless you really need the daybed for a 5th person it isn't worth the extra $$ anyways. Up until they started the AKV construction there was no such thing as a standard concierge room...all the concierge rooms were deluxe, but now there really are not any deluxe rooms left at this point (not sure if they will be back after the construction is done or not)
