October A&E/SDMT FP+ Cancellation Thread

How do I check for singles? I've read mesaboy's thread, but I have a party of four that I ended up setting all up lastnight. would I have to cancel the entire group, and start over? Then go 1 by 1? We did get SDMT, and my DD found it on youtube (kids..) but she didn't seems really thrilled by it. So would definitely try for singles for A&E to overlap, just 2 is all we need, but want to make sure I do it correctly. Thanks.

Do you have access to the MDX app? If so, use it to do this and you won't have to start over. However, I can't figure out how to change one by one on the website without canceling the whole day.

Within the app, select modify your FP then go into the day you want to alter. Select the option to choose a different attraction, then select that ride (sounds like 7DMT for you). On the next screen, you will see a list of everyone in your party that shares this FP. Select the circle next to 1 individual (I always start w/myself) and hit next. You will then see a list of all available attractions for the day that have singular availability. Hopefully A&E is there! After you pick the attraction, you will see a list of available times (assuming there is more than 1). Look for 2 that overlap, select one of them, then repeat this process for the next member of your party (DD) and choose the overlapping time. Then you can plan to show up during the portion of the windows that overlap.

Even if you can't find 2 times that overlap, but there are 2 available, I would suggest snagging them anyway. Once you have an A&E scheduled, you can check for additional availability through the "modify time" option in MDX and hopefully find something better.

Note, you will probably find more times available the later in your trip you look.

I believe it checks ALL time slots, because I changed an 850-950 Peter Pan to an A&E, and then the A&E FP showed up in my plans for 610-710. I thought you could only change within the existing time slot as well, but this made me wonder if that was not the case.

Be careful with the copy functionality within the phone app. It will NOT warn you if you try to copy a FP with no availability. For instance, if you try to copy someone's A&E to a new person, and there is no availability, it will AUTOMATICALLY drop A&E and replace it with someone that is available for both parties. I learned this the hard way and submitted a bug to technical support. Note that the website will WARN you if there is no availability.

The easiest way I've found to check for A&E availability is simply go to the modify screen, e.g., :
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/fastpass-plus/modify/date/2014-10-17/

If you have an A&E for that day, you can just check "select new time" to see if anything is open. If you don't, just check "change experience" on someone's fast pass. Note: If your fast passes are all in groups, you can decouple them by changing an experience, apply it to only a single person, then change the experience back for a similar time. That person will have a single FP reservation.

Alternatively, you can go to the fastpass main page and go through the steps to make a "new" fast pass for an existing person. It will warn you that this will overwrite their changes, but it actually won't override anything until you get to stage 4 "Finalize" and click done.

Actually was able to secure 1 A&E FP+ so far for the DW and our DD2, then tried the copy/paste function for DD5, it changed her original to Mickey, but didn't change the DW's, so I got lucky there. So now I'm just going to keep checking for one for DD5 and if I can get it, maneuver times. A partial sigh of relief. Thanks for the great tips everyone!

Regarding your comments about the "copy" function in the app....can I assume if you choose to copy from one individual to another, and it TAKES, that there was availability for all attractions? I've heard horror stories of people thinking they've copied FP+ options, only to show up and find that they actually don't have a reservation. No idea if these folks completed the action correctly, but I did do a copy on one of my days and am terrified we don't really have a reservation!

I have 4 FP+ for A&E scheduled for Saturday, October 18 - 3 at 11:10 and one at 11:20. By my estimation, we will need to catch the ME between 12 and 12:30 that day, which is cutting it way too close! I know it's a long shot, but was wondering if anyone had an earlier A&E FP that day that they would be willing to trade? I would also be willing to trade these for an A&E on the evening of 10/14.
