October 8th??

Hello,

I'm new both here and to Disney planning (so be gentle with me )

I've been reading up on the discounts available at Disney - FD/Room discounts etc.. I'm aware that the October discounts haven't been released yet but I also read that the dates will most likely be the ones offered currently with the pins. My dates - Oct 8th-15th aren't included.

Can anyone advice me if I should see about switching my dates? Really can't afford full price but the more research I do the more nervous I am that we may not get any discount based on those dates

Oct. 14 is a Monday holiday in the U.S., and weeks with Monday holidays are typically busier since people will take a few days off from work or school.

Also, lots of southern school districts have a mid October fall break, so that's when those families will vacation at Disney.

Considering those, the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, and the nicer fall weather with the summer muggy heat gone, October at WDW can be a busier month. For some of those peak October dates Disney has no problem filling rooms so historically has not offered discounts.

I got a October pin for 18-30th and some dates in November.

Gartner Symposium is held Oct 6-10. This brings about 5k attendees, staff and their families. They tend to book many rooms on deluxe.
