October 7, 2006 Western "Latitude Adjustment Cruise"

For those of you not in the know, my precious husband, Alan, and I were relaxing in the hot tub in the a.m. on Nassau day (no alcohol added) when I asked him if the beeper was where we could hear it if our son beeped us from the club. He got a funny look on his face, reached into the water, and produced the beeper from his swim trunks waistband under water. :scared1:

We ended up paying $150 for the beeper  , but Alan insisted they give it to us since we paid for it. When it was shipped to us, it worked perfectly , but we never contested it because in the mean time, his brother won $2000 on the final night of bingo onboard and he gave us $150 as a gift! :cool1:

Friends have since been on the Wonder and have been given the lecture to not get in the water with the beeper on...

When our friend told the CM she knew the man this happened to, the CM said, "It's a small world after all!" :rotfl:

Alan is a legend... :worship: :rotfl2:

It's no fun to be grown up. That's why we go to Disney! So we can act childish and get away with it! ;)

And yes, I have too much time on my hands....
pirate: The legend of Commodore Grapeshot begins shortly after the American Revolution. A lieutenant in the His Majesty's Navy, he fell out of favor with the Admirality for not hanging two crewmen for desertion.
Disgruntled after being re-assigned to a supply station in Trinidad and demoted, a newly comissioned 38-gun frigate left unguarded was too much of a temptation. Crewed with the best people a rum ration could buy, Commodore Grapeshot earned his nickname after boarding a French ship carrying personal property of Napoleon II.
A broadside of grapeshot, nails, tacks, bits of horseshoes and anything else that could be crammed down a barrell shredded the ships' timbers and sails and sent water pouring into the looted vessel. Of 100 French sailors only seven survived to tell of the rain of hot metal that splintered wood and bone.
Commodore Grapeshot and his crew were wanted for piracy in the newly formed United States, Spain, France and England. During his career he reportedly looted and sank at least 30 ships before his death in 1821. He and his "borrowed" ship were believed lost in a hurricane near the coast of Cuba. pirate:

* A stream of profanity still hangs over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Bermuda where Lizzie Rum Runner faced a firing squad and her ultimate demise in the spring of 1713. Elizabeth O'Shay (b.1671) was her real name and she was the third of five children. At 16 she entered a convent and stayed every bit of nine days before scaling a wall and stowing away on a ship bound for America.
The rest, as they say, was history. Lizzie was a natural survivor and was reported to have kept company with the pirate Blackbeard before calling Bermuda her new home. She made her living stealing rum from the British Navy and re-selling it on the black market at a discounted rate.
A beautiful and fiery redhead up to the day musketballs ended her life, Lizzie drank almost as much rum as she stole. She became a foul-mouthed, hard-drinking trollop even by today's standards. Lizzie was known to swim out to British navy ship moorings, spend the night and leave before dawn with the vessel's entire rum ration. Her luck ran out in 1712 when, after hurricanes damaged much of Bermuda, she was arrested by British soldiers who found her clinging to an empty rum barrell.

*all this is fiction folks :-) pirate:

My Daughter lost control on the ski slop and ran into a tree. Broke her neck in three places. We've been in a panic for two days. Thank God a specialist in Philadelphia saw her today and he said no operation would be needed. She'll be in a special body brace for six weeks at least. My stomach is still doing flips. My wife took today off and will also be with her Tuesday. She can not be left alone. I'll be with her Wednesday. and my DIL Thursday and my son Friday. Her husband just got a big promotion at work so we feel he needs to be there. He's really been a basket case, he saw the whole thing happen, he doesn't think he'll ever forget the picture burned in his brain. All prayers will be appreciated. :grouphug:

The best of wishes to your daughter... and hopes for a speedy recovery. I have a cousin who broke his neck in high school football and he just celebrated his 54th birthday last week... and he is fine.
