October 4th Closing

FINALLY !!! We received our membership cards in the mail today, they took only 5 months to come. I hope this good fortune spreads to all other members who had an October 4th closing along with us. The other good news is they arrived in time for our Marth 15th trip to BWV. Whew ! I almost had given up hope that we would have them for our trip.

Still no cards here...I sent an email back in Jan. and was told I should have some in 4-6 weeks. It's been 6 weeks and still no cards. I sent another email last week and have yet to get a response.....grrrrrr.

Oh well, I guess they're not that important anyway...

I had a closing several weeks later Oct. 2000, and I recieved my cards at least six weeks ago. I would recommend calling MS or the sales office. They should be able to point you in the right direction. I did not purchase directly from Disney I purchased a resale. Good luck! I am sure you will get them soon.

but we have never received perm. cards. We kind of just laugh about it...when we are staying at a DVC resort our room cards say "member" on them so there you go. My spouse is actually contemplating calling member services to request perm. cards..not sure why.

Just curious, did you get the tote bag as well? We are October 4 closers with nothing yet!

We did get a tote bag way back when we received our paperwork to sign. It was part of that package. It is a small white beach/tote bag made of canvass. Too small to be of any real use. Other than that we didn't receive another one. Were we supposed to ??

Yes, there is a second tote bag we were supposed to get--an open top nice beach bag--some got it and some did not. We did not, though after three tries we did finally get our permanent membership cards a couple of weeks ago.

Another poster who received membership cards on 3-02 also received the tote. So it doesn't seem like something they were doing but have discontinued. I have no idea how DVC is deciding who gets the tote and who doesn't. It seems, however, that not one person who closed on October 4th has received the tote. I think that day was jinxed.

Jinxed is right. I sent 2 emails, called twice, and our CM called to make an appointment for a showing of the WLV while we are down there in two weeks, and I brought the matter up with him. I don't put a lot of emphisis on a tote bag, but I may mention it to the CM during the WLV showing. Is this tote nicer or larger than the one we got with our paperwork ? Is this second one accompanied by the permanent membership cards ? Is it possible it can come at a latter time ??
