We head off in 3 weks (I am so excited!). We have booked mnsshp for 28th Oct., but I'm now wondering what to do on the 31st. We are not really into Halloween, but realise we won't be able to avoid it in the US. Also have 3 kids littlest is only 4 so don't want her scared to death! We have Disney and Flexi plus tickets, so could go any where. We are staying in a villa, so could just stay home for the trick or treaters! What would you recommend?

I don't understand why your 4 year old would be scared to death on Halloween, it's not that bad  When I was her age and younger I was going Trick or Treating, going to parties and surviving. :rotfl: If I were you I would take your kids for some real Trick or Treating in Orlando or maybe at Celebration would be best. I'm sure they will enjoy it and it will be something they will remember when they get older. Just make sure to get them big enough bags for all their candy, most US kids take pillow cases with them.

The BoardWalk has some nice activities for little ones (on the green between Flying Fish Cafe and the shops) as well as trick or treating and a kiddies disco. We were staying there over Halloween 2006 and there was a lovely party atmosphere. We visited Epcot that evening for IllumiNations and were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was.

I was thinking more of the people who have said "Oooh, Universal is great at Halloween, last year they had the guy from the Mummy, with half his face falling off"!!!!

I am sure they would love to go trick or treating, they are not allowed at home! The Boardwalk sounds good too. Do you think the parks will be crowded that day? It's a friday, so assume most kids will be at school.

another idea for you is to got to Celebration, most of the houses are dressed up and are fantasticly done!! and the owners sit on their porch with a big bowl of candy for the little kiddies! we went last year dressed up :rolleyes1 and there were loads of little uns there, and they clearly loved it, they thought dh was the real superman!! :rotfl2:

there will be stuff going on at Downtown Disney too

Celebration sounds like a good idea or maybe Seaworld if you fancy a park as their Halloween celbrations are aimed at the younger children.

Claire ;)

for a "real" halloween experience, trick or treating in celebration would be my choice....
but your kids would have to be dressed up for that...
if you don't want to dress up the kids, i'd head for the boardwalk..

Deb, do you know, was that just on the 31st or do they do it a few nights?
We fly home 31st so can't go that night.

Denise another halloween event we once enjoyed was at Old Town, DS dressed as Harry Potter, most of the shops participated. This year its on the 26th, I think your 1st day if you have nothing planned

10/26: Old Town’s Safe Trick-or-Treat event 2pm-6pm. Bring the kids and visit the Old Town merchants for candy.

We have aslo done Seaworlds a few times, proabably going there on 25th or 26th this year.

I'm pretty sure it's just on 31st, but I'm not 100% certain.

You get kids Halloween at Disney and Adult Halloween at Universal. Disney is the best option especially with a 4 year old. :thumbsup2

Thanks Guys. I am sooo excited!! I think Sea World or Busche Gardens if we decide on a "Park day" or trick or treat in Celebration if we have a quiet day. I really must do my game plan!

Denise

The 'Spooktacular' at Seaworld is good for little uns - and it's included in park admission so no extra $$s to fork out :thumbsup2

Trick or treating, lots of colourful fantasy characters, disco areas, cookie decorating -lots of fun
