October 31 at Ft. Wilderness

Now that the MNSSHP dates are out, I can better plan my October trip. We are actually wanting to avoid the party but would definitely like to see HalloWishes from TOWL. I'm thinking of doing MK on the 31st (eating at BOG around 4), leaving at 7 since we won't have party tickets, and then heading to TOWL to view the fireworks, which are usually at 10:15. So what to do between 7 and 10:15? I'm thinking of heading over to Ft. Wilderness to kill some time. I know they will be doing the Headless Horseman meet and great. I'm not into meet and greats (some anxiety issues), so I'm wondering if I would be able to see him from afar? I was also thinking of doing a carriage ride. Do they still do the Haunted Carriage Rides there? Any advice would be appreciated!

Last year they did not have the same things going on at FW like they are having this year. We did go to FW on the Saturday before Halloween and they had a golf cart parade around 6:00 and then a beach party around 9:00. We watched the parade, then ate at Trails End around 7:00 and attended the beach party after we ate.

Just one thing to let you know - they do still do carriage rides and wagon rides at FW but they were not doing them that night due to the activities going on at FW. So they might not have these two rides on Halloween this year. If you do head over to FW on Halloween, a lot of the campers decorate their area for the holidays and they really go all out. You can always check that out. They were not having a meet and greet with the headless horseman last year but he was there (right outside Trails End) and you could take pictures of him.

Another great location to see the Hollow Wishes Fireworks is at the Contemporary Resort. You would have to have an ADR at California Grill (even for just drinks or dessert) then they give you a receipt that you would show the at the check-in. The music is piped in.

Thanks for the link but we are wanting to stay near MK since we plan to view HalloWishes. We plan to view them from the Contemporary but we can access TOWL without a dinner reservation since we are DVC members. I may check out the monorail resorts to see what's going on there if we decide not to go to FW.
