October 31, 2009

I am here and I must apologize. I have not really been keeping up. Well I am back and I am going to try to keep up. I will post when possible. I am kind of on the shy side and sometimes feel funny posting. I do want to get to know everyone on the board and am looking forward to meeting everyone on the cruise. I would also like to participate in the Fish extender and I would like to know what the laynard thing is. On the weekend I am going to start at post #1 and read all the way through to see what I missed. Hope to get to know everyone real soon. Michelle

Hi Michelle (my name, as well, but I go by Shell)!! Glad to have you on here!

Hey all,

:goodvibes I will be on the Oct. 31 cruise! With the days counting down so quickly I am starting to get excited. I will be cruising with a friend, and my family (Mish is my mom :cutie: )

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. I am hoping to participate in the Fish Extender Exchange as well.

Any adults dressing up for Halloween?
(sorry if this has been discussed ... its a long thread and I am desperately trying to catch up ... I have about 1/2 of the posts read:banana: )

Anyone planning a dive excursion? (no one but me dives in my family)

Where can I get one of those great Halloween haunts banners?

Welcome!! Glad to have you on here chatting with us.

We are probably dressing up for Halloween!

Greetings all… Just a heads up that I just added three very important cruise items to the website.. Pop over and check out the last three items posted. Shell, you can share this info with the FB group if you wish as I can’t access FB from work (they have us blocked can you believe that, like I would ever spend my time there :rotfl:)

I saw that!!!! Great job!! We had one of the excel sheets on our last cruise - had it posted on post 1 - and kept it updated with the rotations, meets, etc. It was a great help.

ROTFL!!!! You would NEVER access FB at work ..... surely not you ..... and not in the bathroom, either!!!!! Bwahahahahaaaa!

I would like the link for the chat and if you dont mind just a reminder on Wednesday. I swear I would lose my head if it wasnt attached to my body. Thank Michelle

You need to PM either Kelly (Renysmom) or me to get the chat info. We don't like to post that publicly for privacy and security issues.

Hey, I'm not that bad. ok, who are we kidding. But honestly I'm not that bad in person (or so I would like to think). The web brings out the worst in me.

Not that bad in person?! Really?? Where's the fun in that?!

Hi! Just trying to figure out our FE plans. I have read we have 33 cabins participating. So, if I were to guesstimate the number of cabins participating... should I plan for 50 FEs so I have enough or should I go higher?

That might be a good number to start with. I would suspect that, as we get closer to cruise date, we'll gain a few more participants.

Is there a facebook group? I saw some things mentioned and if there is i would like to join. Can someone link me if there is, and can someone link me to the wednesday chats?

Here's the FB link ..

5 MONTHS!!!!!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

WOW!!! And summers always flies by - to me at least. It will be here before we know it!!!!!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

I know! We booked this cruise 14 months ago and thought this day would never get here! We have some travel plans thoughout the summer so that should pass quickly. I thought I would never look forward to school starting, but that's the milepost for me. :cool1:

Yup that is when the serious packing begins!!!

LOL!! We pack the week before ....

This summer is going to fly by for me, too. We'll hop from one event to the next. It's amazing to think that I will have a full-fledged Marine for a son when we get on that ship.

I am going to TRY to be at chat on Wednesday night (surgery is at 7:30 Wed. morning), but I promise nothing. :)

LOL!! We pack the week before ....

This is always my intention but I procrastinate so much that I usually don't start packing till 5pm the night before. This year I hope I can break the habit, but history is bound to repeat itself. :)

Well, I actually figured that no one would believe me if I said that I did that...... :confused3

We put it off to the last minute. Then, it takes all night! LOL!

LOL Last Minute Packers Unite! :lmao: I am so excited the night before that I almost don't want to sleep anyway. I almost always regret getting so little sleep the night before, but I guess that is what the flight is for; to catch up on sleep.

Me too!!! I am always up all night the night we are leaving. I will be packing until it is time to leave for the plane. Nothing like waiting till the last minute. I don't think it would be a vacation if i wasnt freaking out till we were on the plane. I guess all of us last minute packers can be on the disboards say "whyd did I wait till the last minute" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I am trying to convince my DH to go to disney in August for the free dining. I have the room on hold now just to get him to say YES!!! :dance3: Michelle

Maybe for you!!! I have an 8-hour drive ahead of me, so I *need* to get sleep. It's so hard, though. Just so much going on that night before .... and being sooooooooooooo excited. :)

I see why you should pack early. :)... How about we organize the I Will Not Pack The Night Before Support Group. We will start reminding each other to get a move on the packing a week before. LOL

Packing will be tricky this time as it is a surprise for the kids. Lots of late nights beforehand will do.

I am guilty of not posting much, but I do read every couple of days. With school winding down, and the kids busy with activities I should have more time to contribute.

My husband and I are looking forward to a NJ Meet even though we will not be able to have the kids join in.

Our new puppy Gracie comes home today - YEAH!!!!:yay::yay:

OMG how do you people do that, packing at the last minute???

I have already started my packing list, I have a cruise box in a back closet where I already have some things in it (left over from last cruise items, lanyard, etc..) Small things like highlighters, etc. As I think of things I throw it in there..

If I waited till the last minute I would be a nervous wreck and forget half of what I need. My suitcases will be pulled out and open in the spare room, ready to accept there wares about two weeks before we leave.

I think I am a combination of both. I start early. Eric will start late. It will feel like packing last minute because I will go through everything the night before to make sure we have everything. Alexa and Adam will start early, and will have stuff all over the place. :scared1:

Hi To the potential Divers on the cruise. My Son and I are thinking about taking a dive in the caymans. I have been diving a for a while but he will be newly certified this summer. I was thiniking of setting up a dive on our own and not through the ship as I have heard that it is much cheeper and easy to do. Any one interested in joining us?

If you find something let us know. I checked around and found the $135 DCL charges is right in line with everyone else. But, others claim smaller groups and the ability to go where ever. I've booked through cruises and hotels, and have found the dives to range from really good to really not so good. I hope that DCL is more in the really good range. However, I'm not committed to scuba on this trip. I've dove the caribbean before and it was very good. But this trip I have a large group and may decide to just hang out.

Packing - we started to create a cruise pile within days of booking the trip. When we find/buy something that we don't need until the cruise it goes into the pile. I'm sure most of our summer stuff will be in that pile by mid to end September. We also have a check list already in the works. Then packing on the night before is no big deal. It is just a matter of putting things into the suitcase and checking items off the list.

FEs - We purchased out first item over the weekend. But we only got 50. Are we going to have more than 50 kids. I hope not.

For all of you Wii people, and those that are also trying to lose weight.
http://www.riiflex.com/
It is a dumbbell cradle for the remote and nunchuk. It should be out sometime in the summer with 2lbs or 4lbs.
For those with the new wii active it means you can chuck out those horrible resistance bands.
But even just to play other things, bowling, tennis, etc. Holding a weight would be an awesome thing. Just make sure you keep on the strap so you don't throw it through your TV!
