Kristen:

How did you make out with your reservations? Were you able to get what you wanted?

Steve

Hey Steve-

Yes I was!! So far we booked the Eco Park & Snorkel in Cozumel, Castaway Ray's Adventure in Castaway Cay & got the kids registered for the Oceaneer's Club & Lab. Thanks again for your help!

It will be here before we know it, can't wait!

Kristen

Thanks Steve. Saying stuff like that helps us. We know that we will have a great cruise, and we are so happy to have met everyone from here and we can't to spend the week with everyone. We also know that this trip is not about one meal at one restaurant.

For me though, I was more upset with the principal of things than the actual fact of not getting the reservation. I was most shocked when I spoke to someone at DCL and they said that they don't/didn't hold back any reservations for those of us that could first book at 75 days. Very non-Disney to treat people this way. I'm over the shock now, and my count down is still as strong as ever.

Hi Jeff,

Just so you know, my mother-in-law & father-in-law didn't get Palo either, didn't want you to think you were the only one.

So sorry Jeff!!! We were able to get into Palo on our last cruise - I wasn't able to get ressies online, and was placed on the waiting list after boarding. They called us the first night with brunch ressies - try to keep the faith!

Or, as an alternative, come to dinner at Palo on the last night - we are!!!

What kind of shore excursions has everyone booked? We booked the electric car thru Disney but after reading the posts about getting it cheaper on your own, might be changing that...We walked all over Key West and after a few hours in the 90+ degree heat with 2 kids, we really envied the people in those electric cars last time :lmao: DD & DH are doing the dolphin thing in Grand Cayman, while DS & myself are doing the turtle farm/Boatswain excursion; We are going to try Cozumel on our own - plan on getting a taxi to Chakkunaab (sp?); DS & DH are doing the jet ski on Castaway Cay.

Jeff-

Heard from my mother-in-law before, she was able to get Palo one night for 9:00pm, but hopes to change it once on board to something earlier, so keep trying!

Kristen

First I wanted to thank everyone for trying to cheer me up over this Palo issue.

Second, I promise I am not canceling and we are still looking forward to a wonderful 7 day cruise with our family and all of you.

Third, It is not about not getting a Palo reservation. As a matter of fact we had just decided about 2 weeks ago to even go to the brunch.

What it is, is a matter of principal. Had I simply not gotten a reservation then no big deal. My issue is that I was never given a chance to get one. The CM supervisor that I spoke to when I called clearly stated that they released all of the brunch reservations at the 90 day mark. I was mostly upset that Disney feels that they can charge me the same amount of money for the cruise as everyone else, and then not give me an equal opportunity to use the facilities on the ship.
Of course we want to go, I just question if I really want to give a company that would do such a thing my money.

Oooooh. I LOVE Disney Dreams - but that's the only one we saw last time. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new one that's coming. Sounds like it's going to have villains ... that should be fun. :)

Jared (my oldest) said that the "Til We Meet Again" show is really good, too, but the rest of us didn't see it.

I can't believe that I'm down to 70 days tomorrow .... *10* weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I want to see the Toy Story one, but it is only on the Wonder. Rats.
As for the others, I don't even know what they are, but I think we plan on seeing everyone of them. Is there one every night?

Hello NJMama,
I have booked the electric cars in Key West but not through Disney because when I had the chance to reserve, they were all booked.
In Grand Cayman, we are doing stingray city. In Cozumel, we are going to go swim with the dolphins.
Not sure what we are going to do on the Disney island.

I also got my son reserved for the Oceaneer's club (or whichever one is for a 9, soon to be10, yr old.

I'm looking forward to Twice Charmed. My youngest is a huge Cinderella fan and seeing the look on her face should be priceless.

I want to see the Toy Story one, but it is only on the Wonder. Rats.

There is entertainment every night, just not a Disney show. DCL brings in entertainers, usually comedians, for a night or two. Check out the latest Navigators on the cruise's website.

Update on lanyard payments *received*

I should have the lanyards in hand by September 1. I will then put in the name badges and send the lanyards to all that have paid.

Just wanted to keep everyone updated so that you would know if I had received your payment.

We're getting so close!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks for doing this Shell:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Steve

I do not think I have a favorite. I loved watching my DS face light up when we watched the shows, that is enough for me!

Looking forward to the new show too.

We are just planning to tour on our own in Key West. Got the dolphins in GC. Planning to take a taxi to Chankanaab (sp?) in Cozumel.

As for the shows, I'm looking forward to all of them.

I posted a question earlier, but will ask one more time. Anyone know if ressies for the hair salon can only be booked once on board. Need to get an answer to my grandma.

Can't wait. My kids just started school today, so this is something for them to look forward to. Already talking to the teachers about make-up work.

This is from the 2009 Passporter Guide to DCL. Not sure how you actually amke the hair appointment. Not sure if it done through the online Spa reservation feature.

The hair salon offers a variety of services—reservations are necessary and they fill up quickly for formal and semi-formal evenings. The hair stylists specialize in European styles and all the basics. Prices: blow dry ($30 to $45); woman’s hair cut with wash, cut, and style—$52 to $70 (depends on hair length); man’s cut and style—$23; highlights ($79 to $99); permanent color (roots)—$64 to $79; and permanent color (full head)—$84 to $104. You can also get nail services: A 25-minute manicure is $25 and a 45-minute pedicure is $40.

Are you or any of your cruising group planning on attending the NJ Meet & Greet on September 12?

Steve :thumbsup2

Hi Steve,

I'm pretty sure Susan & Joe are going (Suzieqmomof4) Not sure about my mother-in-law or father-in-law though. We are waiting for the baseball schedule for our boys to come out to decide if we are going or not. We are only about 15-20 from Woodbridge, so depending on games, hopefully we'll make it. Are you going?
