Finally got all the excursions booked and Palo dinner #2.

Now I can go to bed and deal with not getting my daughter registered tomorrow (she's booked under my grandma's room, which they seem to have the wrong birthday for the reservation. Oh well, no biggy now)

Anyone know how/when I can book a salon appointment? My grandma has her hair done once a week and needs an appointment on the ship. I didn't see anything online.

I hope everyone else got what they wanted. Can't wait.

Hi guys - some of you mentioned renting an electric car for Key West day.

I just called A & M Rentals and reserved ours.

On their website they say 4 hours for $99.00 but when I called it is actually 5 hours for $99 when you reserve ahead. Also, they have 6 seat cars which are not advertised on their website in case anyone needs that. I booked a four seat for us.

Andy told me you just call about 10 minutes before you plan to walk of the ship and they send the shuttle down for you. Oh and you don't have to leave your credit number when you make your reservation. Just a cell phone number that you will have with you that day.

Just wanted to share!

Oh the phone number is 305-896-1921
I just rented with them too. When I try to do it thru the cruise this morning, they were all booked up. Maybe we can meet and shuttle over there together...

I'm in shock. I just called DCL, and they told me that they held back ZERO brunch and high tea reservations for us newbies. They released them ALL between concierge and castaway cay.
And I stayed up until midnight for it.

Oh my. I'm so sorry, Jeff!!!

I would try again as soon as you board. There's a possibility that someone will cancel or that something will open up.

Trust me, I will be checking EVERY day in case there is a cancellation, as well as the minute I get on the ship. But it seems a bit unfair (and odd to me) that they were all released before I even got a chance to get one. I wish they had posted this on the site so I didn't have to stay up until midnight.

Jeff How many people are you looking to book brunch for?

All,

I'm begging if anyone can help we will forever be grateful. It appears that DCL let all of the Palo Brunch reservations be released for the concierge and castaway cay members, and those of us who were able to book today had no shot of getting one.

So I am begging anyone if you are going to cancel you reservation, please don't do so without contacting us. Maybe we can be on the call together and they can just swap the reservation from you to us.

Or, if anyone out there has booked 2 of these brunches, please, please, please consider canceling one of them and allow other people the chance to get it.

We booked this cruise almost 18 months in advance (and have been saving for it over 5 years), and are so upset that we could not get this brunch. We are still keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for pixie dust.

Hey Fellow Cruisers!

Don't forget tonights Kid Chat at 8:00 PM.

We are about 11 weeks until cruise day. We would love to have both new and old chatters join us.

Jeff, have you thought about dinner? There are still several dinner times available as of today. We booked a late dinner. That way we can still enjoy our regular dinner show (if there is one), catch most of the entertainment that night (or even goto the early entertainment show) and still enjoy Palo. I was looking forward to a brunch, too. We've been planning for this since April 2008 and it is a bit discouraging. But, on the "glass half full" side, my family and I will still have a great dinner. Just a thought.

The only dinner choices available were the first night and the last night.
We didn't want the first night, don't want to be leaving the kids in the club then.
We didn't want the last night, because we wanted a casual night with the family to end things.
Yes, we are going to have a good time, but we are just sad since we are missing the brunch.
But I know all of my friends here on the disboards are going to tell us how much it sucked and that we didn't miss anything. Just give me a few beers and I'll believe anything you say LOL.

Jeff, I'm trying not to beat a dead horse, but...There are times available for dinner every night except day 6. I don't know how many would be in your party, but a twosome can get into any of those available times. Some are a little late (8 pm and beyond) but a couple of nights have 6:30 available. And remember, you can always cancel a reservation if things improve or change. I just don't want you and your dw to miss what looks to be a fun evening.

Hey ... you're welcome to come to our room and have Palo .... didn't think that was really your first choice. LOL! The invite is out there, though. :)

Oh, good. I'm thinking that you could use a smile or two today. :)

Now you just need to convince me not to cancel. I'm so upset over this Palo thing. If I missed out and didn't get a reservation, that is one thing. But by having them fill up before I even got an opportunity to book is upsetting to me. I'm giving them the same amount of money as everyone else, I should have the same opportunities to do things. I feel like a second class citizen. I never expected Disney to treat me this way.

On a different note, we mailed out your check for the lanyards today.

Jeff:

I felt the same way on our first disney cruise in 2007. We were unable to get a reservation for Palo for Dinner at 75 days out. We let it eat at us for the last twelve weeks before sailing. When we got to the terminal we took a couple of deep breaths and got into the Disney atmosphere again. The excitement that you feel entering into the terminal is amazing. We received # 18 at check in and when they call your number and you walk through the tunnel it was worth any troubles or frustrations that you had during the process. When you are introduced in the atrium you realize how special you are to the Disney Cruise Family. We found out where we needed to go once on board to make/change dining issues and got on line after a wonderful lunch. We moved through the line quickly and were able to make our Palo reservation for the time and day that we originally planned on trying for. So it was all good after all.:):):)

Steve

Thanks Steve. Saying stuff like that helps us. We know that we will have a great cruise, and we are so happy to have met everyone from here and we can't to spend the week with everyone. We also know that this trip is not about one meal at one restaurant.

For me though, I was more upset with the principal of things than the actual fact of not getting the reservation. I was most shocked when I spoke to someone at DCL and they said that they don't/didn't hold back any reservations for those of us that could first book at 75 days. Very non-Disney to treat people this way. I'm over the shock now, and my count down is still as strong as ever.

Oh no, no, no!!! YOU CAN NOT cancel!!!! Just remember that the cruise is soooooo much more than this one event. I'm sorry that you weren't able to book what you wanted - and I would give you ours if we had booked it - but just think of all of the wonderful memories you're going to make with your family - and all of your new friends. Don't let this one thing spoil what you've planned for all this time.

If this was the ONLY thing available for entertainment on the ship, I would agree, but you've got 7 wonderful days ahead of you full of magic, fun, and memories. Keep that in mind, my friend.
