OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

Hi everyone! Back on here after a very very busy May and June! Mothers and Fathers day celebrations, birthdays, work meetings, AZ vacation, CT overnight, big family wedding with bridal party at my house night prior! Feeling very overwhelmed. The nice thing that happened is my son, DIL and grandson Alex have made the decision to join us (IF my dil doesn't return to her teaching career). They got a room on the same deck as us, midship/inside room I really hope they can join us in the end. Alex will be 18mo.

I haven't even started on FE's. Not sure what to do or how to organize it...thinking maybe I should back out Can someone help with ideas?

DCL will provide each person with two luggage tags, but the bag handlers at the port will have extra tags and you can carry on additional bags.

For previous cruises, I have made tote bags and put card games and candy in for the kiddos. For the adults, my favorite FE I did was when we cruises to Key West...all adults got a mini bottle of Margarittaville tequilla and can coozies, and drink recipes. For our Christmas cruise I made a CD of Christmas Steel Drum music for each family. My goal for the FE is not not spend too much $$$, but give people something that they will use/enjoy, and it won't end up in the trash. Our DD has received glow sticks, candy, pirate goodies, small games, etc. I have also done some personalized magnets for people too.

The best tip I have...if you do individual FE gifts per person, put each person's in a small Ziploc bag, then place all for the stateroom in a larger gallon size bag. It makes delivery so much easier. We currently have a cruise mate list which is great info, but I have heard someone is putting on an excel spreadsheet for ease for the FE.

Well, today is the 1 year anniversray of my mom's passing. She was 62 and passed away from complications of Ovarian Cancer, which went to her brain-which according to her team of doctors, never happens. I am trying to focus on all of the good memories, but I am sad too. I remember spending that day with my Dad, after he called me in the middle of the night to let me know. Oh how I would love to be spending the day with him today reminiscing about my mom, but he joined her in heaven on Nov 9. I am spending the day with DD, as DH is working. I will be heading in to work at the Magic Kingdom later tonight...I can't help but be happy there! Thinking about the cruise also makes me happy! In fact after my mom passed we took a cruise on the Disney Wonder, after my Dad on the Disney Magic...can't wait to enjoy our cruise in Aug on RCCL Monarch of the Seas and of course the Disney Dream in October!

Oh, and one other thing...my mom's favorite holiday was Christmas...it is only fitting she passed away at the half way point! Christmas is 6 months from today. I will be doing my shopping on the ship!

Just posting a note to say HI...it has been a crazy summer so far. Just got back from a 3 week trip of CA, Las Vegas and NYC. Heading off to KC, MO tomorrow and then back to enjoy some time home for the 4th. Maybe sneak back out to CA to go surprise my daughter at DL.

How many people do we have in the FE's? At what point does it get to large and you divide it into 2 or more groups.

Now I do have a few DISers written down that I did not do yet cause I'm not sure if they doing the FE with us on the Oct 30th cruise or if they are still even cruising with us. Please let me know if these Disers are participating so I can make theirs or delete them from my list. Thanks

What a sweetie you are!
Yes we are cruising but we don't do FE gifts. We live in a small condo so have no place to put stuff, try to avoid extra calories and to pack light.

As one who is not participating on FE my opinion should not count but I give it anyway.

Buy a box at SAMs or Costco that has individual bags inside and pass them out.

I believe we have between 35 - 40 rooms.

We asked about splitting it up in to 2 group earlier in the thread and decided to keep it one big list.

Now we need to figure out if we are going to set days for people to deliver.

I'd prefer not to have set days to deliver. I'd rather be free to deliver whenever it's convenient - when there is no other events going on and/or not to have to deliver all of the FE gifts at the same time (do some one day and finish up the next or even the next).

I hope no one is too upset if I back out of FE's. The group is too large for me to handle and deliver something that is worth giving. I can't imagine delivering and then receiving 35 little items for each of us. WHERE would we put them all! Thanks for the opportunity though

Morning all,

I am back from vacation and tired. I think I need a vacation to recover from vacation

We had great weather and had a good time. The dogs are still sleeping. They ran and explored the mountains for 9 days and now they are exhausted and even their muscles seem to be stiff and sore. Just like me.

Minnie is so tired she didnt even chase a deer that came into camp one evening.
I did 9 loads of laundry and grocery shopping while the guys cleaned the RV from one end to the other to get out all the dust and dirt.

So now I will try to get back to some kind of routine again.
I saw on the news something about a fire in Florida and it was getting close to the Animal Kingdom? I didnt get details, just a quick head line. Anybody else hear what is going on??

I dont have time to go back and read posts for the last 9 days today but I hope everyone is doing well and had a great week.

Back when I can, I still have some things to get put away today. Plus some bills to pay and calls to make.

Thanks for the link. I am glad nobody was hurt and I do remember that place. I use to drive past it alot when we lived in Kissimmee and Poinciana.


I think everyone should be able to deliver their gifts as they choose. No set day. I believe this because none of us knows what their schedules will be like and sometimes your busy all day.
I know on past cruises we did half one day and the rest on another day because we were so busy.
I dont want to miss and event on the ship because I have to deliver them on a specific day.

Now I know we are not on the list, so I should speak out about this but that is my opinion.
The only reason we arn't on either list yet is because its 50/50 if we are going to get to come still. We are booked but there are a couple things happening in our lives that may prevent us from coming so I just didnt add us.
But in a month if we find out that we are coming I will add us to both lists. So I expressed my opinion.


As far a show many are on the list that hcanges weekly. Since the last list went out i have added people and deleted people too. This will continue to happen over the summer, I'm sure. So there is no way to know just yet how many are participating for sure by cruise time. By past experiences I would say 50 cabins would be a close guess by cruise time.

Our rain has returned today. We are just not getting summer here. Can't wait to get back to Florida in a few months!!!

I best get back to work on my family tree and family reunion stuff today.
