OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

Woohoo! Made my ADRs for the couple of days we will be at the park after the cruise. It is our first trip to WDW. We are doing Epcot Thursday and MK on Friday. A friend that lives in the area is coming with us on Friday (I think).

Hey, Amanda! I came on here to woo-hoo too! I got all my first-choices for ADRs for our post-cruise WDW visit. The girls and I are going to be trying Hollywood Brown Derby for the first time. I am a little disappointed, though. I wanted to do the Aloha Luau, but the only 2 days I had available for it were Sunday and Monday and the show is dark those days.:headache: Oh well, we will have a good time no matter what we are doing: we will be at Disney.

Look at the upside. That just gives you 1 more reason to plan another trip.

We are doing Akershus on Thursday and 1900 Park Fare Friday. Since it is our first trip I am struggling with making the "perfect" choice...hello! We are DVC and WILL be back many times! The girls loved the character dining on the Magic and since it isn't offered on the Dream, we thought we would do those meals. I really hope our friend makes it, because he really is a kid at heart and will have a blast watching the girls!

We splurged on a MK view in BLT since it is only for the 2 nights and if the girls are wiped out we can still see the fireworks!

Are you doing 1900 PF for Breakfast or Dinner? We are doing breakfast there on Friday.

Dinner. I'm hoping that in the event our friend isn't off of work he can at least make it down for dinner and fireworks from our room!

It was kinda hard doing the ADRs as we are not going to be there long and after the cruise I don't want to spend all our time worrying about meals! I think I have mentioned this before, but I am trying to look at this as a "scoping out" trip to try to figure things out. That way we make mistakes or not-so-great-choices on a two-day trip versus a week long one in the future! At least I can hope!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the moms hope you have a great day!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Wanted to also say welcome to all the newbies coming along on this cruise. Wow cants believe how fast this trip is coming only a few months away! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

So glad we have a new thread, I have now subscribed. DH, DD, and I are going insane wanting to be on the Dream so bad. Since DH and I both work at WDW, we usually books our cruises last minute...this waiting thing is tough, even though it adds to the excitement building! So excited we get to do our online check-in and book stuff on July 2 (yea platinum). Then it will really get tough waiting! Got most of the kid FE stuff all done. Time to work on the adults :-)

Welcome to all the newly booked! I am Stephanie, DH is Pete, and DD is Kayla. She turns 7 in July. DH and I both work at WDW. I look forward to "meeting" everyone as our group grows.

Happy mothers day to all the moms out there.

Just got home from a weekend at the beach. It was very nice and enjoyable.

My youngest DD called me on the way home to tell me she has a mothers day gift for me. I am going to be a grandma again:eek:
This will be #6 :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Well,I will say that embarkation was as big a mess as I had read here.We got inside the building around 11:30 and were given number 20.It was very, very crowded in the terminal and for the people who have children they had a second really long line to wait in (to register them I think?) We got onboard almost an hour after they started calling numbers.I know that our tablemates missed the DVC presentation the first day because their bus from Animal Kingdom didn't get to the pier until almost 2:00.So maybe the biggest tip is that if you want to be onboard early you really have to be there when the doors open. That may leave out Disney transportation if 2:00 is the normal arrival time. The shipboard detective thing was a blast, the Aquaduck was very fun and a very short ride. The adult pool is way too small and there aren't a lot of loungers so to cool off you would have to come down a flight of stairs from the top deck where there were lots of chairs. Not a big deal but if you have mobilty issues it might be.Food was okay-very heavy on seafood and the buffet at Cabanas was really well done everytime I saw it.Any specific questions please ask.I would be very surprised to hear that someone didn't have a great time on this ship!

Good morning all! Mother's Day was good here. Insomnia has gripped me again, though. Not much sleep the past three nights.

The girls and I are off for three days of fun (for them) and learning (for me). With our local education system tanking rapidly, we have decided to homeschool in the fall when our oldest starts kindergarten. There is a practicum here that I hope will help me prepare for it. For the girls it is a play camp. Sounds like fun to me!!!

There are many in our area losing homes due to flooding of the MS River. Seeing the damage is mind-blowing, as Memphis is often referred to as the "Bluff City," but clearly there are many low-lying areas that the river has overtaken. It is expected to crest tonight at 14 feet over flood stage. Mosquitos will NOT be fun over the next month or two!

At least we have October to look forward to!!!!:woohoo:

This year's weather has definitely not been good for so many. Hope you all remain safe, and untouched by the rising flood waters.

Congrats on your decision to homeschool. I am so happy our daughter is at an incredible school in this area. We were lucky and got her into a charter school. If she had to go to the one that our neighborhood feeds to, I would probably homeschool as well. However DD and I both have very strong personalities...probably good we don't spend all our time together! Homework some days sends us into a not good place. I have so many friends that homeschool...biggest advantage in my eyes is not comforming to the school year calendar.

Just booked our airfare for our cruise! So excited! We r staying at the wilderness Lodge Villas the night before and then 5 nights after the cruise! It's getting closer and closer! Can't wait!:)

JB, are you staying at the WLV after as well? If yes, ask if Bell service can hold a suitcase for you while on the cruise, that way you don't have to lug as much stuff to the port and on the ship. SSR has done it for us in the past and we just packed a park suitcase and cruise suitcase(s).

That is so true about the weather! My dad finally got some rain a few weeks ago for the first time in three or four months.

Thankfully I have many friends that homeschool, so we are a part of a great network and plenty of social interaction!
