October 30, 2008 3 night Wonder

Looking for any cruisers that will be sailing on Wonder October 30 over Halloween. We are a family of 4 Me DH and my 2 boys 11 & 4 well the 11 year old is having a birthday on the ship so He will be 12. We are looking to meet anyone that will be there with us. So hopefully we could meet while on the ship. But I have checked around and there just does not seem to be too many Disers going on the particular cruise. Hope to find someout there. Lots of things I would like to know ask and find out about and would love to chat with some ship mates.

I'm still trying to convince DH to go..just the two of us and leave the teens at home with Grammie. We've never gone away w/o the kids so a little break would be wonderful! Any ideas on how to convince him????

As you can see from 1st post we are going. My son will be 9 when we cruise. We are all looking forward to it. This will be our 1st Disney cruise. I have cruised many times when single and this will be my DH and DS's first cruise ever. I hope they love it.

In Nassau we are planning on doing the Catamaran snorkling trip and then on Castaway Cay we are getting the Extreme Getaway Package which includes float and snorkle equipment for the day and 1 hour bike and seeing the stingrays.

Anyone else know what they are planning for excursions?

A meet would be fine with us. Let me know where and when.

I would also love to do the fish extenders. We should probably start a list with cabin numbers. Can't wait to see everyone. Maybe we should do a greet on the first day too. That always works out well. It will also give the kids a chance to meet each other. My daughter will be turning seven on the cuise on Halloween.

My oldest son will turn 12 on the ship too Nov 2. I think I am going to surprise him with a day trip to Magic Kingdom Sunday after we get back. Anyone ever done this before for just a day?

I'd like to do fish extenders also! It's just my husband and I as we are leaving the teens at home and going on our first mini vaca w/o them.
I don't have a cabin assigned yet, as soon as I do I can leave it.

Could someone explain fish extenders to me. I guess I am behind the times.

Fish extenders is a 3 to 5 pocket "shoe-bag" type thing that you hang from your fish that is outside your door. You hang that off your fish and you exchange gifts with other people on your cruise.

If you go on ebay and put in "mickey mouse hanging" you'll found pics of them.

I'm a n00b at actually posting on the DIS, but a LONG-TIME lurker -- booked our cruise via DU from all the positive comments here (Merrie Thomas is the bomb!).

Although I'm still a n00b, I'd be willing to compile the extender list for this cruise. I think I have to have ten posts in order to get/send PMs? One of you vets wanna fill me on in that part?

Welcome Gary ! Thank you so much for voluteering to help us out here. I am so pschyed about this cruise. it will be for my sons birthday and when we return we are off to the world, it's a surprise that part he does not know about.

Gary, I also think DU is the best! Dagny at DU has gone above and beyond with all the emails I send her! I'm not sure about the pm'ing part and having 10 posts..its been awhile since I joined. I can help compile everyones info if you need.

So How many are willing to do the FE I need to start shopping and need to know wht I need. I have 2 boys 12 & 4 The day we arrive home is my 12 yr old ( actually the day he turns 12) has his b-day. What some suggetions of things to pick up and use . Am I the only one ready to CRUISE!!!

I'm very excited to cruise! I still can't believe it'll be here before we know it! Yipeee.... I will also start shopping for FE gifts...little surprises should be fun. We just need to get a list together of everyones names, kids names & ages and the room number and I think we'll be good to go! We don't have our room assigned yet, but as soon I get it I"ll leave it!
