Is it October yet?! :goodvibes

Welcome! My daughter will be 15 in January so she is close to your daughter's age. We do not do the teen excursions but i understand that they are a lot of fun.

My DD really likes to do things around the ship like the trivia and such - she is not a huge fan of the teen club. She is looking forward tomeeting the other teens.

Thanks for the welcome - This is going to be awesome - they have fall break and think we're going to cali to see some friend and the beach.. I can't wait to see her reaction to finding out that the beach is well after a brief ride on a ship...

Hi all! I'm PrincessShmoo's daughter that's coming along. I'm trying to read back and catch up on the thread. This is going to be my boyfriend and my first cruise and we're super excited!

Hellooo Marshamello! Welcome Aboard:wave2:

My,My we are really starting to grow in numbers aren't we!!!
Sorry everyone but I have been snowed under at work. Now there are 4 weeks til we head overseas I have been having to ensure all my paperwork is up to date.
Dave and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary this week!
Corrina- you deserve so much pixie dust. you are amazing, you have done so much for this thread and for each of on the cruise with all your knowledge.
I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Well in four weeks I hope to see some of you at Trader Sams and I can't wait to meet the others on the cruise.

See you real soon

I have been away from the boards a bit, but my how our party has grown. Welcome everyone! I must say I think I am going to know as many people on this cruise as I do at home. I have never done this before so it is a bit overwhelming. I can't wait to meet you all.:cool1:

Corinne I cannot thank you enough for all of your hard work. I hope Disney showers you in Pixie Dust. :wizard:

I also hope I do not embarrass myself with my FE gifts and Secret Santa gifts. All of you sound so crafty. Just remember they were made with love and good intentions:love:

It has been fun organizing all of this. It was almost accidental that I ended up organizing things for the group, but I am glad to have this opportunity. Disney has already spread pixie dust. They left us in the cabin that we had booked. This is our favourite cabin and I was worried that they would move us.

Don't worry about Secret Mickey and Fish Extenders at all. I am sure that people will love them.

I swear I have been making a trip to the craft store at least every other day trying to get these gifts and such finished up! lol! I haven't even had time to be on the boards! It has been so nice seeing everything come together though. I swear the planning has been just as fun as I think the actual cruise will be! It's been an extra bonus sharing it with family as well. My sister-in-law is lethal in the crafty department. I keep telling her to bring extra versions of her stuff to sell to other people on the ship. But she doesn't want to have to disembark in Mexico. ha ha!

What do disney cruisers do without the DIS-Boards?! I would've been so sad having missed out on this experience with you guys!!

Counting down!
Meredith

I know that feeling. I have started to buy supplies for my various projects about a year ago without any clear idea what I would ultimately do. However, the last of the supplies was bought last weekend and now I just have to finish the very last Fish Extender gift. Once I am back from this vacation, I will start over again for the Hawaii cruise next year.

I don't know what it would be like cruising without the DIS. I was lucky enough to find the cruise meet thread for my cruise for my very first cruise so I have never known it different. Even when we cruised on NCL, I found a cruise meet thread on Cruise Critic so I always had people to plan with and also some group activities.

Welcome on board. You are in for a real treat. We did our first cruise 3 years ago and have been hooked ever since.

Happy anniversary.

I have not even really started to worry about the paperwork yet. I need to do our ESTAs as our old ones expired in July. I am just in the process of ordering a replacement marriage certificate as ours seems to have gone missing. I am not sure if we need to show it for the vow renewal, but I thought I better play safe as it takes 15 business days to arrive.

My cruise documents arrived yesterday. This makes it so much more real. You guys might remember that I had a bit of a panic, because I thought that I had only booked Palo tea for one person, but in the cruise documents, it confirms that it is a booking for two. I am so relieved especially as the DCL transfers don't leave Grand Californian until 12:20. Normally I am on the ship around that time. Still, without having to worry about the reservation for Palo, I can just head for lunch, then drop our stuff in the cabin and head up to the spa to get our length of cruise pass for the Rainforest Room before our meet.

Over the weekend, I will send out emails to those involved in Secret Mickey if your Secret Mickey has had a room assigned now or there has been a change. I still don't have all the room numbers to finalize Fish Extenders, but from the numbers I do have, it looks like we will get a good workout. So far the only stateroom decks that we do not have people on are deck 1 and 8, but that may well change.

I noticed that some families participating in Fish Exrenders has 2 cabins (one family),kids in one cabin, mom and dad in the other. Are we suppose to give both cabins a gift?

I would think, if you're doing one gift per cabin, it might mean one per family. Maybe?

Some people might be doing individual gifts per kid, and one gift for the adults in any one party.

Others are doing one gift per person, regardless of cabins.

I guess however you want to handle it works.

We have 2 cabins but you only have to do one family gift. We are doing one family gift and then one gift for each person that we will deliver on a different day
We will love everything! :)

I would say do whatever feels comfortable to you. There are no real rules or requirements. its all in fun, certainly not meant to "break the bank" :)

I completely agree! Don't stress! Just have fun!

I agree with those that say don't stress. It is meant to be a bit of fun and should not evolve to a stressful task.

The way that I personally have done this is that I have done different gift bags for most cabins. The exception are Mindy's family as she advised that they would only have one Fish Extender and Cathi's family as I had not realized that they had two cabins when I put together the gifts. However, everybody is getting two individual gifts anyway so it makes no difference if I put it in one bag or two. For the cabin gift, where we have teenage kids in a different cabin, I have added the cabin gift to the cabin where the parents are staying.

Our docs came in yesterday! I race-walked over to the travel agent as soon as we ended the call! My six fellow cruisers are coming to our house on Sunday for a pre-sail away party. My husband and I have an entire Mickey menu planned and some fun treats as well. The suicase is on the spare bed, with my check list near to it.

I'm excited to meet you all. I doubt that I'll make it to the 10-1 pre cruise meet because our plan has us all at DCA all day with 9 pm World of Color tickets. (fingers crossed on that one). I'll see you all at the meet on the ship.

I guess we are all official!! We have our Documents also. I just ordered our t-shirts through Vistaprint. They were really great. We plan on wearing them Embarkation. It will be fun seeing all of you.:boat:

I am glad that people are starting to get their cruise documents as well. I am hoping that I can soon fill the last gaps on our roll call spreadsheet.

I had a day off today and finally got around to finishing my magnets, buy some goodies for my Secret Mickey and work on another cruise-related project. I did not manage to finish this as I ran out of materials, but the missing materials have now been ordered and the bulk of the job has been done.

We're still GTY, will be arriving 10/1 late in the afternoon @ LAX, then headed to the San Pedro Doubletree for the evening.
