Stampinshauna,
Just wondering - do you post on Micechat? Your name is very familiar to me. Anyway, I haven't been on the Halloween cruise before, but I've been told there is a Costume party (adults as well as families included) on Halloween night. Plus, there's the pirate night on Tuesday night so plenty of opportunities for dressing up. For your hubby, there's penguin night on Sunday. ;)

You can look up Post #13 on page 1 for information on Dis meets and other activities planned. There's also a thread geared for kids that is very active if you guys have children that want to get to know more about each other before spending a week cruising.

Trishy--I have posted a little on Micechat, so that is probably why you recognize the name, unless you are a member of Splitcoaststampers, I have the same name there too. I just found the great DCL threads yesterday here on DIS, and am so glad that I did. Micechat is lacking in the cruise info.

*love*2*shop--the pirate night is tropical dress. When I went last year, a few people were dressed like pirates (most of us didn't know that it was pirate themed prior to sailing). The majority of people were wearing tropical clothes for the Pirates in the Caribbean Dinner & Party. Either would be fine. Or, you could always dress tropical for dinner and then put on the pirate attire for the deck party.

Is anyone going to Mickey's Not-so-scary Halloween Party the night before the cruise?

Just wanted to make a quick "hunkerdown" post!! The storm will come ashore about 35 miles south of me, but very close to where Tim lives and REALLY close to where he works...Tim, hope Ford let you off today!!

Did you know that it is never too early for a beer when a hurricane is 35 miles from you??

We are going on the Thursday before and hanging by the pool on friday.

I have a tough question for all you Disney World pros !
DH found two 5 day world hopper tickets from our last trip to Disney World in 1996, we know that they have something left on them that's why we kept them. Is there any way to find out what's left on the tickets and if they are still good ? There is no expiration date on them.

Also DD is dying to go to Blizzard Beach either before or after the cruise. Does anyone know if it will be open ?

Blizzard Beach will be closed for refurbishment, but Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be open, I think 10am-5pm (check Disney's website for exact info).

You can only find out how many days are left at a Guest Services window at the parks. They will not be able to give that information over the phone and unfortunately there is no where else to find out.

I had them go through 3 of our tickets the other day to check what was left on them and I borrowed a sharpie to mark it down on each one.

So..the hurricane is going nicely...we are just sitting here...it looks like it is passing well to our south. Ft Lauderdale is going to get the brunt of it. Mom lives on the beach there...wait till you meet her...resilient thing decided to stay in her apartment on the BEACH!!! LOL

Hey Betsy...glad to hear everything is going okay for you guys. Hopefully this will be the last one this year for you guys.

hey all,

sorry haven't posted in a few days working for the money for the cruise...

i am also doing the passport dance as we got ares today :cool1:  :dancer:

i hope all the people near the hurricane are safe and well..

No FL resident rates yet. I keep checking. Hopefully once we get inside of 60 days they will do something.

I was watching the hurricane with great interest. It should be heading up the east coast (via the panhandle of FL) just in time for my flight out of NC to WDW on Tuesday. I'm still watching her path.

I'm just hoping that the temps will be cooler this coming week than they were last week when I was there. I'm taking Trevor (and Tara) to celebrate his 4th birthday (which is only days after we get home.)

SueEllen thanks for the info. I guess we'll go a little early for MNSSHP and see what we've got. Besty hope your mom is ok.

I'm off to Chicago tomorrow...Michigan Avenue, here I come   Hopefully I will find a dress for formal night while I am there (and for Palo, and for semi-formal night...) :rotfl: :rotfl: I have this thing about having to take a brand new wardrobe with me when I go on vacation...it gives me an excuse to shop :goodvibes

DS is visiting his Nana for the weekend and DH is at work, so I have the house ALL TO MYSELF :earseek: I think I will take advantage of the opportunity and start planning our next Disney vacation!

Hope everyone has a great weekend :flower:

Sarah

Good Saturday Morning everyone!! :flower:

I hope everyone in the path of Katrina is safe :grouphug:

Guess what we are down to 9 weeks today we will all be arriving at Port Canaveral....

Seem like it is getting a little closer doesn't it :confused3

Well my exciting plans for the weekend may include the beginning of fall cleaning  Unless I get a better offer :earseek:

Actually I have been searching for our next cruise.... ;) DH wants to wait incase any of us get sea sick but that doesn't mean I can't look right??? Only problem is the week the kids have a fall break Disney doesn't do Western which is what I want to do next. To bad cause I was looking forward to booking onboard for the discount but oh well.

Hope you all have a great day!!!
