Yeah!! I got tagged!!!!

but you all knew that ... thanks to Johnna and my friend Anna (CACruisin') who is almost forgiven for going on the repo to Europe instead of the Med...

I don't care if he's mispelled. I kinda like the Jack Ryan part more than Indy, but Indy will do. And if he's not around, George Clooney can fill in, in a pinch. I'll share my girl scout cookies with either one. (:rolleyes1 TMI)

Stir Crazy ... the waitress are all ... on Prozac? :lmao: multiple personalities? Susan will take your order, but Raleen serves it (and they look remarkably the same :rotfl2: ) ... screamers a 'la, you order a hamburger without onions and fries and she screams, "a deck of cards hold the jacks and chips"?... Am I even close?

oh I don't have'ta make sense no mo' I got tagged!!!!
Go RJ! :cheer2:

:rotfl: I love Beano!

Very nice dinner with Limey & %. Tenny... sorry if Betsy scared you on the phone. :rolleyes1 We all behaved. Promise. It was just dinner @ Stir Crazy. :stir:

Not worried in the slightest. Betsy didn't scare me. I know a good nature joke when I hear one. Besides that sorta thing doesn't really bother me at all. To much history and trust with the man, don't sweat the small stuff. Glad that everyone had such a great time, I know it is helping to ease his lonliness some, so I thank all of ya'll for taking some time out of your busy worlds to entertain him.

CHERI!!!! Congrats my friend. Way to go. :cheer2:

JOJO: You are next!!!...we should try and get that done.

:cheer2: :woohoo: GO CHERI GO CHERI :woohoo: :cheer2:

:bday: :tigger:

:wave2: Hey Tenny - when you leave a message - speak slowly and clearly. :rotfl: Me no can understand you!! Call back.

 Happy Birthday Sean!

Okay... sorry to bring down the mood, but the latest news on the family front is that my grandmother has been diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). It's pretty common, but it's aggressive. They say it's treatable with Chemo and Grandma's reaction was, "How soon can we get to fixing this?" so she's in good spirits. But... I know a little about this stuff and the survivial rates for adults aren't that good. So, if you guys wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate some P&PD for Grandma. Also, if you have any experiences you can share, I'd appreciate that as well.

Never heard of it, but will put your Grandma on my prayer list!!!

Sorry to hear about this, ophie. :guilty:

AML has a pretty good survival rate. How old is your grandma?
If she has a positive attitude towards beating it she'll do even better!
Has her oncologist suggested chemo yet?

If they caught it early, I bet she can kick it's butt! :wizard: :wizard:

Ophie

I will most definitely put your Grandma in my prayers tonight :thumbsup2

No experience with AML...my grandparent experiences are with Alzheimers, shingles and Parkinsons.

Grandma is mid-70s. She's always been very healthy. We don't really know if they caught it early. Chemo will start as soon as they can get her hemoglobin up and her fever down. Dad says she'll be in the hospital about a month.

I was under the impression that AML survival rate is lower than other leukemias. I got an info packet from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society when I interviewed there. It lists AML at 19.8 for adults. I didn't think that was too great. They don't take into account my grandma though. She's a healthy, positive lady with a lot of faith. All that can't hurt, right? :goodvibes

Sorry about your grama Oph. I do know from experience though how much a positive attitude helps.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Hey everyone thank you for thinking of me on my birthday today, Rj,tink,tenny,%,sara....

Sara, i am so sad to here about your grandmother, i will pray for her every night until see is cured, you have to stay strong now, lots of love and support for her, I know it was hard for me when my dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer, but i prayed everyday for him and he made it through. i you need someone to take to about anything let me know.

That is 100% correct! :goodvibes

Yes, the survival rate after 60 years of age is lower. (Hey - you don't need me to blow smoke up yer backside, right??)

But there are lots more factors involved. Trying to put 'odds' on your grandma's chances is like picking this year's World Series Champs. You can speculate, but there are too many unknown factors to know for sure.

Good doctors. Good medicine. Fighting like hell. That'll work for now!

Happy birthday Sean!!

Ophie- sorry to hear about your grandma. We'll put her in our prayers!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Oph - so sorry to hear about your gramma. She will definitely be in our prayers. Pixie Dust Too! :wizard:
