This is our first cruise and our first time doing FE! Please enlighten me on what we should do. We have made our Fish Extenders but not sure where to go from there. No allergies.
Welcome to the FE! The first thing to know is that a FE should be low-stress and a lot of fun! Typically, people purchase or make a small gift for each stateroom (sometimes one per stateroom, sometimes one per child or guest--it's up to you!). If you are travelling by plane, or if luggage or finances are a concern for you, don't feel obligated to go all out!
Many people like to give gifts associated with their hometown or country. Local candy or food, crafts, magnets, etc are popular. I live in Orlando (where everyone is already buying WDW and Florida themed souvenirs), so I usually do something useful or crafty with a cruise theme. My kids LOVED receiving personalized items like stickers, magnets, or notepads...although time is running short for gifts like that. But my philosophy is, it's a gift, so it's wonderful whatever it is!
You'll also need a Fish Extender, which is an organizer-type thing that hangs off the fish or starfish next to your door. Visit this link for more info :
http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/meets.htm You can also search the boards for FE ideas. Your best bet is to
google "disboards fish extender gifts"
Usually people package the gifts in a baggie and/or attach a label with the name of who made/bought it. I will send out a list of staterooms participating and you'll select a day (or two or three) to deliver your gifts. Rooms will be easy to find because they will have the FE hanging next to the door. Drop the gifts in the pocket for each person (or any pocket if you're doing one gift per room) and you're done!
I hope that gets your started. Let me know if you have any other questions!
