Candy Exchange interest..Bobbiwoz organize...I will keep the number of cabins in each group between 6-11

If you are thinking of joining the Local Candy/Snack Exchange please post here!

Bobbi

We are interested in doing the candy exchange! :)

Just booked this cruise today! We are Krissy and Bob from San Antonio, TX. We will both be platinum by the time we sail. Can't wait, I've wanted to do this cruise for a long time!

Hi, DH and I booked this cruise last week, this will be our second cruise with Disney an we can't wait. We're from the UK and currently trying to work out our best flight options, we live about 50 miles north of London. Any advise greatly appreciated. Currently considering flying into Los Angeles and hiring car to drive to San Diego, bit early to check prices yet though. We'll definately fly in the day before the cruise starts though.

I haven't checked in since before our cruise to the British Isles. This group is active while we count down to Oct 2017! Please count us in for the local candy. I will check with DSIS to see if they also wish to be included.

Had a couple at our DVC MC table who booked this cruise! Hope they join our conversation here!

Hi! I'm Bobbi, DH Tom, we are Platinum and can't wait to do this cruise. The WBPC cruise we did on DCL in 2014 was our best cruise ever, we hope this one is just as memorable!

I have organized a Local Candy/Snack Exchange on many of my DCL cruises. We use FE's to pass out tasty treats from our area. We've enjoyed treats from Salt Lake City, TX, Jersey Shore, Idaho, and many more places. I hope someone will organize some FE groups, maybe a Dis Meet onboard on embarkation day, whatever someone can think of!

Getting close to the 365-day mark!! I can't remember whether we've introduced ourselves. I'm Heather, DH is Bob, DS is David. This our first Disney Cruise and we're doing it big! The cruise will be celebrating a lot of milestones that are being accomplished right now. I'm finishing a graduate degree in December, DH is retiring next year, we're hoping to sell our house, move to a new state, and start a new job. This vacation should be the much-needed moment to exhale.
Since we're putting cash toward the cruise, everything else (flights, rental car, hotel stay) is being covered with points from credit cards and travel rewards programs. Actively working those angles too while we wait. Sincerely, there are days when dreaming about this trip is what keeps me positive and grounded in all the chaos.
Thanks for just being here. It's so nice to be able to talk with others about these plans. Our best to all of you!

A great cruise to start with you will have an awesome time. We took this in 2005 the first time DCL did this trip. The cost per day is also one of the lowest available. Sue

How about a breakfast (or lunch) together in the sit down restaurant on the first sea day?

I just moved a previously booked cruise I had for January to this Panama Canal Cruise because of a last minute work conflict. I was really looking forward to my January cruise but I would gladly take a 14 day cruise over a 7 day cruise any day.

Welcome everyone!!!
I've been in WORK HELL for the past Month and a half and haven't checked back here.
We have so many new members :jumping1:. Anyone what to join the trick or treat or kids friendship group just let me know. The list is on page 2 in this thread and post number 32 & 34 respectively.
I have been stalking the the thread on the Wonder dry dock upgrades, just can't wait to see all the changes.

It looks like we have some new cruisers with us. Welcome, Everyone. So, what is going on with folks? It is kind of early to really start planning, but it is never too early to start becoming acquainted.

What are folks looking forward to the most on this cruise. For me, it will be the first time I have been on a cruise of this length. All of those sea days and, of course, viewing the Panama Canal.

What say the rest of you?

Aside from the muster drill, we're looking forward to all of it! And who knows, the muster drill might be an excellent adventure as well. This is our first Disney cruise, our first cruise with our kid, and our first cruise of more than 5 or 6 days. There are a lot of unknowns, but I feel confident that there will be mostly happy surprises with any Disney trip.

On a completely different note, I'm a planner and have been saving up for this trip for a while. Can the seasoned cruisers give me a sense of how much to budget for gratuities on a trip of this duration? I have no idea and don't want to be cheap with the staff. We went big by booking a concierge room and want to tip accordingly.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!

Just wanted to say hi! We are doing this cruise as well - will be our 6th; excited to be gold :)
My son will be 10 . . . looking forward to meeting you!

Hello!!!

You are going to have a WONDERFUL time! This is my first cruise over 7 days and I am SO looking forward to that. The muster drill can be an adventure in and of itself, depending on where your muster station is located. I believe our cabins will be mustering in Animator's Palate, which will be great because we will have my 81-year-old mother with us.

There will be loads of things to do such as cooking demos, tastings, trivia games, bingo and more!!! My husband and I enjoy going to the Animation classes. I can't draw a lick, but I really have a lot of fun trying.

As far as the gratuities goes, we have added ours already and they are $168 per person for the length of the cruise. Not too bad for 14 days.

Keep the questions coming and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.
