Do you all have strict attendance rules in your area?

I've never had any trouble taking my kids (or myself) out of school........I just approach it as "an educational experience".

Not everyone gets to view underwater sealife, visit Mayan ruins.......etc.

I know that the high schools in my area allow up to 15 days with parent approved absences. But there is no consideration for missed assignments, other than handing them in early and tests missed are missed.

And the lower level schools are about the same, days wise. I had missed up to 30 days in high school and still passed the year with a B average (i just was very bored during high school, still did all my work and made sure I was there for test days, involved in school activites.) As long, the child is doing the work and understanding the material, a happy child is more likely to want to be in school.

No one will find us on page 4

RAC....what did you decide about this October?

Dave

Hi Dave!

We are not going to be able to make it this Oct. I am suppose to start a job with the school district in Aug. So, I don't think I can swing taking a week off this Oct. DH and I are planning a Princess cruise in June, just the two of us. It will be fun to try something new. :teeth:

Are we going to do a trick or treat trail for the DIS kids, I would be willing to do maps and group organization for this event. Mom is looking forward to handing out candy to the little ones, as we live in a Condo and aren't allowed have door to door halloween here.

Penny

WE are going~ We went Last Oct 2005 over Halloween and Had a BLAST..we were booked for THIS halloween BUT couldnt get the suite we wanted and Couldnt see spending all that money on a room and not be happy..SO as soon as the Oct 2007 rates came out, our WONDERFUL DIS /Dreams Unlimitd travel agent Sueellen Grabbed us one of the suites we wanted....It will be Me (then 32, arghh, hubby will be 34, son kyle will be 8 and daughter madison will be 6 by then)
:teeth:

I CANT WAIT!!!! NOW , to just finish paying for it ,lol

:rolleyes1 Just returned from the 4/23 Wonder 4 night cruise and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it... so I rebooked on the ship for the 7 Night Halloween 2007 cruise!

Just me, single mom of 44 and Noah who is 6 now but will have just turned 8 by then!

We paid only $400 more for a 7 night during this time of year vs. the 4 night at Easter! NEVER again during a holiday! We saved 10% and got a $200 room credit from Disney plus an add'l credit from our travel agent! Yippee!

I am soooo excited... can ya tell? Is it too early to start a roll call? :woohoo:

Welcome aboard Racheal and family!

Ahoy Kimmielee and family!

Only 543 days until Sail-a-way!

Penny

can you beliv we dont leave for a long time and I am SOO excited..Last time we Booked VERY late ( booked late august and went in oct) and that was bad..NOW its XXXX months away and im dying..How will i survive....Many Trips to THE WORLD in the meantime I Presume.... :rotfl2:

I am cruising on the double castaway cruise in December and our last cruise was in January 2004 (we bought DVC while on board the magic.) So the 220 days left is not so bad and then there are only 300 days until the Halloween cruise. We did 2005 at WDW and no cruises, very sad. I was very excited for this years cruise, then it died off and now the excitement is coming back!

Penny

PS. rachel, have always loved your tinkerbelle avatar!

Thanks Penny!! Hi Rachel! Our son's will be the same age when we sail!

We booked our 4/23 4 night cruise at 300+ days and it FLEW by so I'm hoping that this will too! :hourglass When I told Noah about rebooking he asked how many days and I told him about 450... wow, was I WRONG!!!

I'm going to try hard to not talk about it so the time won't drag for him. He gauges time by how many sleeps.... not how many days... 543 sleeps to a 6 year old will seem like FOREVER!!!

Rachel, since you were on the Halloween cruise before.... how did DCL handle Halloween night?

Welcome Rachel and Kimmielee

No way we can wait 17 months for a cruise. We leave in 3 weeks and then again in October. We are trying to get a T or T thing together for the October cruise.
