As of 8:00 this morning, my company announced a merger with our biggest competitor. Per most of what I'm reading, we ACQUIRED them... so I think I'm in the safer seat, per se.

Anyone ever been through this... I'm having major worries but keeping a strong face on for my team. HOLY crap this is not what I was expecting this morning!

I would think if you aquired them, the you'll be getting a raise! Hey, you need happy thoughts!

Woo-Hoo a new family.I have a DD who will be 8 1/2 when we cruise!! This is our first cruise too ( for DD and on DCL) You will learn so much from these boards. I feel like I have been on 10 cruises. LOL and the trip reports are great fun to read.

DUH.........I just saw you have almost 200 posts so obvisously YOU know how GREAT these boards are...

To give you a bit of background... I work for a mortgage insurance company and we underwrite high risk loans for lenders. I manage our #1 account and have the highest market share of any other location in our entire company!

The competition sits NEXT to me... literally, they are one row over on the client site. As much as they are the "competition" they are also friends.

Well, our version of the merger announcement given to our employees did NOT mention job duplications, severences, etc. THEIRS did.

They (the competition) do not have a ME - and that has always been a big part of why our market share is so high.

I THINK (and hope and pray) that I'm safe and my staff is safe... and the only concern that I have left is add'l locations across the country and more travel. THAT I can handle!!

Yes, she'll be 9 in April so about 9 1/2 when we leave. I'm so excited!!

Our twin DD's are 5 but their 6 year B'day is on Halloween

I'm so excited looks like my friend from Peru and her DH and DD 7 and new baby more then likely will be joing us. This has now turned into a drinking cruise no doubt, especially after she has been carrying that baby for 9 months

I was going to have 10 hours of overtime on this next check until my DS calls me from school. Now we are about to go to the doctor and get his snotty nose, stomach ache and chest pain dealt with. Sometimes I think it's bad for nurses to have children, we NEVER believe they are sick until they are dang near in the hospital . Poor thing never gets any sympathy!

Anywho, he's sick so I'll join y'all again when we get back from doc and pharmacy. The sun is out again today but it's still only in the 40's. YUCK! WHEN WILL I BE HOT AGAIN? WAAAAH WAAAAH!

OK, I'm done. I have to deal with whining folks all day, I think I deserve a whinefest every now and again!

It's rough being sick when it's really cold (heck it sucks anytime). Hope Ethan gets better soon.

Well, Ethan has walking pneumonia. He doesn't act as sick as he should so I'm glad I took him to the doctor!

The only real effect we've seen in Texas is we had to sell off one branch due to owning too much of the market in that city. The people should still have their jobs, but they will be working for someone else. Good and bad I guess.

We're going through one merger now, and there are rumors that the Spanish bank that just bought us is going to be bought be an English bank . The only real effect we've seen in Texas is we had to sell off one branch due to owning too much of the market in that city. The people should still have their jobs, but they will be working for someone else. Good and bad I guess.

The girls especially Holly couldn't stay away. If it was o.k with us she would have stayed there the whole cruise She too is Miss social butterfly.
McKenna is a little more quiet and much prefers playing with the boys, I call her my boy/girl . She is very laid back . Here is a picture of the girls on the RCCL cruise at the clubs while preforming for the parents. Holly was to socializing through the whole routine and still talks about her freinds to this day.
Note McKenna note wanting anything to do with the silliness she kept telling us she was too shy.

Great pics! My older daughter is a little more reserved, her name is Ashlyn Makena great minds.
She kind of stands back and waits for someone to come up to her.
Lauren is always off and running, usually the other little kids are like, "woah.. personal space!!"
