Wow. Looks like everyone is surprising their families. Our whole family participated in making these plans and the kids are very excited. They have each made pictures of their upcoming cruise for posting onto our stateroom door. Any one a veteran cruiser and have any additional tips/advice for us first timers?

17 days and counting.

we just got our documents yesterday 10-9, WE are sooo excited.

JNS, we are staying at the Caribbean beach Resort for the first part of our Land and Sea package.

We're going in 2 days early so we can hit the parks before the cruise - so less than 2 weeks now!!

There are 8 of us flying down from New Jersey. We're spending 4 days at Old Key West then boarding the DISNEY WONDER on October 26th.

Can't wait!  My boys are 4 and 5 and were 9 months old and 2 yrs old on our last Disney Cruise in 2002.
We got our cruise info in the mail earlier this week and we're ready to go!

We have them registered for the Oceaneers Club 3-7 yr olds.

Can't wait! 9 days before we leave for the airport.

Hi Benny44,

My 5 and 7 yr old boys will be there too. See ya on board.

Hello everyone,
please forgive me for crashing your thread.
I have a favor to ask of you.
when you get back from your awesome cruise would you please post if you have a house band or not on your cruise.
The reason I ask is I got confirmation from DCL today that soon(they didnt give an exact date) there will no longer be a house band on the Wonder.

This means NO live music in Wave bands club.
No live music at the sailaway Party too.

There will still be a duo in the Promenade lounge and a piano player.

Personally for the price we all pay I think we deserve live music at our party and in the evenings to enjoy. I think they are just trying to save a buck at our expense!!
Please dont misunderstand, I LOVE DCL!!! we have done 12 cruises and have 3 more booked. I just think we deserve a live band.

If you agree with me, please take 5 minutes and write and tell DCL how you feel. If enough people write we can get this changed. DCL does listen to their guests.
If you dont have a band on your cruise, please write about it on your comment cards and go to guest services and complain.

here is an address to write to:
www.dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com

or go to their web site and click on contact us.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read my letter. I truly hope that you will still have a live band to enjoy!!!I will be looking for a trip report after you return in hopes you will post about this for all to read.

mom x4,grandma x4

again, sorry for the intrusion!!!

Hi mom x4,grandma x4

Please say it ain't so!!! I will try my best to post a trip report when we get back. I am talking to Disney Cruise Lines right now and to the castmembers best knowledge and his boss's knowledge all of the bands are staying the same.

But we'll let you know when we get back. 2 more long weeks :yay:

Here is a copy of the first letter I received. I will post both responses.

10/12/06

Dear Mrs. Templeton:

Thank you for your recent e-mail and inquiry.

We realize the importance of live entertainment aboard our ships, and
will continue to offer live music throughout both ships.

While the Disney Wonder will no longer feature a ?show band,? we will
continue to offer a performing duo and two pianists onboard each
voyage.
In Wavebands, we will continue to offer game shows, variety
entertainers, theme nights, and popular music with specialty hosts and
a
DJ.

The Disney Magic will continue to utilize a ?show band? that is capable
of breaking into smaller groups to cover the pre-dinner sets throughout
the ship.

Again, thank you for your inquiry. We look forward to sailing with you
and Gregory next month.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

I wrote back to DCL to clarify this and got this response.

10/12/06

Dear Mrs. Templeton:

That is correct. At this time, the Disney Wonder will no longer
feature
a show band. Therefore, there will not be live music at the sail away
party or in Wavebands.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

Hi Benny! We'll probably see you at the bus! We're staying at OKW before our trip too and taking the DCL bus on the 26th. Planning a nice big breakfast at Olivia's before we leave :)
