Add the 2 y/o now. Not only for nursery and lifeboat occupancy, but price too. The longer you wait the price will likely be higher too. Our sailing is filling up. Of course it's basically sold out now upstairs except for a T or V occasionally show as folks move about. But that never stops
DCL from raising the price every time a cabin becomes available. That pushes the cost higher for every pax who will be added to that cat.
Fwiw this cabin availability/movement can be more active around the 120 and 90 PIF dates for those looking to move or upgrade. Odds are there is a wait list too, which sometimes works, sometimes not.
I always wondered about this below. I always thought you had to make changes and cancellations of the lower(less $ to DCL) kind prior to the paid in full date. For concierge the PIF date is 90 days for our sailing.
If you cancel the 2 y/o before the PIF date you will not technically lose the deposit $ for the 2y/o. As stated in PP you can apply it to something in the future, perhaps even this current sailing if you get the right rep on the phone.
But I agree that this below says you can cancel the 2 y/o at 46 days out and only lose the child's deposit. But like I said, if you cancel a pax at 91 days you will still have the use of that deposit $ for a future, or perhaps to apply to this sailing. It will be a credit in your name.
Did you use a TA? Call DCL or your TA and get it/this in writing, IMO.
I would make the change at 91 days if possible, but then again, what's $170 if staying upstairs. lol. It's a Visa moment. Priceless .... flexibility for under $200.

For most itineraries, the balance of the reservation must be paid no later than 90 days prior to sailing for concierge categories 1-3, R-V and 75 days for all other categories 4-12, 4A-11C. .......
Suites/concierge staterooms:
If you cancel within this period: The cancellation fee is:
45 + Days prior to sail ............. Loss of Deposit per guest......
Also fwiw, most CL guest pay at least 119 days prior so they can take advantage of their early 120 booking window for excursions and onboard ressies.
HTH and makes sense. I think sweetlovin' used less words.
