Here's what our lanyards looked like last month.

Woody

Thanks Woody! That helps to see it. It is the same size as the smaller size of the free laminate pouches. problem is our logo loses its detail when it is smaller. You can't really read the dates. I am going to experiment with our wording and clip art and see if I can come up with something readable in that size.

Orange seems to be a good color. And thanks for the advice on the font color. Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Just back from The House of Mouse - very hot and humid! We had a great time but am thoroughly exhausted!!! We watched the fireworks and parade at MK last night and didn't get home until 1:30 this morning. Our friends got stuck on POTC for 40 minutes! They got FastPasses for rides today for getting stuck but gave them away since we were coming home today! Bummer.

Anyway, 7 pages to catch up on. Will check in later with everyone!

Laundry and sleep.....well, maybe just sleep!

Dana, great job on the name tags and lanyards.

Add us to your list; Rexanne, Greg (DH), Nathan (DS), and Katherine (DD). I vote for the orange lanyards.

Was there a decision made on whether it would be a good idea to put name tags on the kids or not?

If you are still looking for donors count me in.

Also, was there a decision made on splitting up the number of families for the fish extender gifts into smaller groups?

I am glad that so many of you liked the iceberg pictures that NewfieMom posted. We had something like 900 icebergs this year travel down the coast of Newfoundland. While they are very beautiful, they tend to cool down the weather.

Cheers, ;)
Rexanne

CurlyKate,

Thanks! Do you really need it colder up there? :goodvibes Last time on chat, Valerie was chipping off part of her igloo for martini ice. :rotfl:

I added you to the list and thanks for being a donor! We now only need 11 more for the project to go through.

I laminated a nametage example and I am going to post a pic in the next couple of days. It actually doesn't come out bad when laminated. I am going to tweek things that woody suggested and try it again. I think the name color and dates will have to be larger.

Okay, finally got caught up on the posts!! (I'm up with my bad cough that I caught on the plane down to WDW. I seem to get sick almost every time we fly now!!) Anyway, please add us in for lanyards, etc. I'd be willing to be a donor, too.

Need to check out the page 6 thing, too. I've really got to try to get sleep now. Hopefully my antibiotics kick in soon.

OH! Rode Toy Story Mania at HS and it was fabulous!!! Can't wait to do it again in August!!! We had such a great time even though it was so hot and humid. Ran into Shaq and posse while we were there last Monday at Magic Kingdom. Our friend came out of the bathroom in Crystal Palace behind him (he hit his head going thru the doorway!!) and we saw him later at BTMRR getting off! That man is so tall he doesn't look human!

Hope to get a picture of all of us from my friends camera (I didn't even bother with mine because he's a professional on the side!!) so will try to post one soon!

Alright, DH is calling for me to get to bed! It's gonna be a long night.....

JNS, could you please add our other cabin to the list? It's 6131 with Isa (16) and Abby (14). We'll be celebrating Ameera's 2nd birthday and our 18th anniversary on this cruise.

Thanks!
Suzie

Hi Dana,

Does the project contemplate a lanyard for everyone on the Roll Call list?

On our last cruise, people who wanted lanyards had to sign up for them and were added to a Lanyard list. This eliminated many who were on the roll call but did not care if they got one. Even then, there were people who ordered them but never bothered to pick them up. (This was a bit disheartening for the person who put so much time and effort into making them.) Also, many people who picked them up did not wear them after the first or second day. (ditto)

One approach (and there are many!) would be to start a Lanyard list (as you have done) of people truly interested in having a lanyard, and set a sign up cut-off date (based on the vendor's lead time, and time needed to make the name tags). Order 10% more lanyard in case there are stragglers, and print extra name tags with the name area blank (to write the names with a felt tip pen). You might already have enough contributors/sponsors for this project.

Hope this helps.

Woody

Rexanne

Rexanne: Yes we will be splitting the fish extender lists into 2 groups to make it more manageable - I will do this nearer the time when I know all of the cabin numbers. :thumbsup2

Dana: Those name tags look great - I would vote for the orange colour to match the halloween theme of the name tags!

Helen: We have a family dog (she's my Mum's really) who is a golden retriever who looks very much like your dog and you will never guess what her name is - AMBER! How spooky is that!

I agree with Woody , make them for the people who want them ,
we might't wear ours after the first day either but I still want them as a takesake from our Dis meet thread thanks again for all your hard work

Hello all
i haven't been on since Sat(have a had migrain) and missed alot!!!! I always seem to show up to chat when nobody is around . Hope to catch some of you this week.
Dana
I also vote for orange and think woody has some great ideas. Again if you need any additional help let me know.
I love all of the pictures everyone has posted it is great to be able to put a face with a name.

I was trying to think of some ways to get our "lurker" friend to come out of hiding. What if we all told a little bit about our selfs again..
I'll start
I'm Michelle and I live in Clermont Fl ( 30+ mins from WDW) I live with my husband Vito and my 2 kids Vito Jr 12 and Angelina10. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and we love everything Disney.I love to trip plan and tend to plan plan plan and then when the trip comes I just go with the flow. To me trip planning is a big part of a vacation.
What about everyone else?????

Jackie:

Re the DIS tag. I have checked out these threads but it all sounds a bit complicated to do it this way. I think it might be better to keep it informal, with everyone delivering their fish extender gifts as and when they feel inclined / have a spare moment / suits their arrangments etc rather than to feel obligated to do it within a specific time scale following a tagging. I would also be worried about the tag going missing and people getting missed as has happened on some of those threads. What does everyone else think?

i personally think we should stick to just putting us all into smaller groups, tag does seem more involoved and yes what if someone gets left out?
