Thanks to everyone who sent a PM I updated the name tag list. later today i am going to post a pic of the lanyard example. That may help some more people who still have questions.

We are up to 7 donors we need 13 more for the lanyard project to continue. Again thanks to those already speaking up to be a donor.:lovestruc

The pic album is looking great! It is nice to see all the shots.

We are also going on this cruise 10/25/2008, and can't wait. It seems like it is just around the corner.

I called and talked to Disney this morning, and they confirmed that we will be going to Grand Cayman, the Costa Mayan government does not feel the port will be ready.

I am actually very excited to be going to Grand Cayman, the snorkling there is great!:) :) :yay:

:welcome: to Spacy9 and mickeycruisemaniac :welcome:

Glad to have to sailing with us! Go to page one and post six for all the activities we have planned and join in!

Jackie, sorry to have missed you on chat. Valerie and I had a good chat tonight :chat: Where is everyone for chat? or do Valerie and I have no life lately?:rolleyes1

I haven't joined in on the fish extender yet due to the fact it was so large and now the name tags. Seems like so much is left undone for me and we are only getting closer to the cruise! I do like the idea that was presented by someone for splitting the group up. Still might do the FE if it is and I finalize the name tags. Dis Tag is good too.

By the way all the newcomers, are you interested in name tags and/or lanyards? See the link in my signature.

Great pics agraygirl!!

Dana and I have been in chat. She should be about now googling all the weird place names I told her about here in Newfoundland - we have a place called ***** in Conception Bay, Hibbs Hole, etc., as well as an internationally known bar area called George Street - about 40 bars in a small area, thought to be the most conjested club area in all of North America! Another fun night on chat  getting to know each other. Too bad we missed you Jackie!

Welcome to mickeycruuisemaniac and all our other new members :woohoo: Just wondering - did you book recently, or just find us? We've been talking on chat lately about what we could do to encourage our lurkers to join in more - anyone with any ideas?? We think we're a pretty neat group of people :dance3: and although we have a solid core group, we have lots we've either lost or scared away! We'd love  to hear from more of you!

Night all!

Valerie
(PS: Can't wait to see that pic of the lanyards Dana. And thanks again for all the hard work you've put into them and the name tags!)

Just wanted to forward this tidbit I found...

If anyone hasn't sent in final payment, you may want to do so by july 1st. There is a update on the main page about a new surcharge ($5 per person) for Cozumel. This includes any new book or any current booking not paid in full by July 1.

If you have paid in full you may also want to make sure you TA forwards the money to Disney by then.

Here is the examples of the lanyard on the website:

the sky blue lanyard has the walt disney script we could use. I am partial to the orange to match the nametags or the Lime green . When I enter in a saying to put on it, it does not show an example for me to post. Hope this helps anyone who has questions and join in!

Here is the info again:
The name tags I made look great in the size I posted. If you shrink it down to the size of the FREE laminate pouches (think wallet size) it loses something. I think it looks better in the size of the original post. think more of a backstage pass.

The cost of name tags alone would be minimal. The cost of some paper. A variable would be the laminate pouches if we wanted a larger size. I think I can print them at work so ink costs may not be a problem.

Lanyards are the neck peice that would hold the nametag. I thought it could be black with the saying " Halloween on the High Seas" On the website I looked into, the cost would be about $400.00. This would include the paper and some ink for the nametags.

So if people are interested in both the cost would be about $2.00 each (nametag and lanyard). I mentioned in an earlier post about donors. If anyone is interested in being a donor for the project, 20 people could give $20 to the project. Then everyone would get a free souvenir. So far I have 8 people interested in being a donor. I would need 12 more.

If I do the lanyards I would need to order in the next 3-4 weeks. so I am calling all the people who may not post a lot but may want to participate to PLEASE respond. I need participants or we may have to cancel the whole project. If you have any thoughts on the idea positive or negative please post.:confused3

Hello everyone!:wave2:

Sorry I haven't been around in awhile. I try to make the chat's when I can, but usually it is so late everyone is already gone. We applied for our passports last Saturday, and they came in the mail today!! :yay: Just got home from hitting the summer sales at the mall for cruise stuff.

Hi Stefanie,

We have been getting in to chat around 8 pm CST till about 10pm hope to see you there sometime!

What did ya get shopping???popcorn::

Dana

Hey Dana,

We bought a little bit of everything I think. Starting to think of what I need to pack. I got a really good deal on a dress for Samantha. I think she will wear it on formal night. I also got a really neat insulated tote bag that I think will come in handy on port days.

Count me in on being a donor for the lanyards. They look great!

Good job on the dress! check that off the list! Seems like my list is getting longer not shorter :confused3 Maybe because I am avoiding it and spending too much time chatting with Valerie on chat nite. I had planned on checking things off the list this weekend and here I am chatting away.

Thanks for being a donor I'll add you to the list.:lovestruc

Dana -- Great job with this project!

I agree with you on the orange or lime green lanyards. We want them to stand out. Last month, we had lime green and you could easily identify people in our group. (Orange would do equally as well.) I would avoid black or red, as those colors are on the free lanyards that Castaway Club member get. We had the rectangular spring clips (samples # 1, 6, 8, 9 and 12) which worked very well.

The dimensions of the printed name tags were 2-5/8 x 3-3/4. The pouches were large enough for people to store their KTTW cards, and drivers licenses when we went onshore.

The only suggestion I have is to put the screen name in black print to make them more legible. (Last month, the prototype name tags had the screen name in lime green, and you could barely read them in a social setting. The finalized name tags used black ink, which helped immensely.)

Again, great job.

I aso vote for the orange ones Dana - we're such an "outstanding bunch" we need to make sure we "stand out" :rotfl: Sorry - couldn't resist! Thanks for the input as well Woody - having someone on here who's cruised recently has been very helpful.
