It was great chatting last night with everyone, man were we up late!

Thanks everyone. I was midway through a Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner program I started in 1997, when the program shut down. Those in my group that finished went to Harbor in UCLA to do so. I was pregnant with DD and had a 2 year old, DS, a full time L&D job, and a mortgage on a house in another state. I just couldn't do it. We lived about an hour north of Santa Barbara then.

I've always meant to go back, but we put DH's MBA first.

DS had a GREAT birthday yesterday. Talk about loot!

Is anyone else here a big Sar Wars fan like DS? I got him the Lego Star Wars Death Star from the Lego Store at Downtown Disney. He was thrilled. He and DH are already working on putting it together.

Sorry I missed chat. I had to clean up after birthday celebrating for our visit from the Easter Bunny.

DD is crazy about Littlest Pet Shop and scored some new ones from the Hare.

1 Star Wars fan here. DW got me the original trilogy on DVD for Christmas a couple of years ago. I remember taking my first $5 bill to the local department store to by my very own land speeder, back in the day.

LOL! It was fun but Ugh - it was bad getting up this morning early....sooooo wanted to sleep in but too much to do today! Proud to say we made it through and the kids are on their way to bed! WHOOHOO!! It's mommy time!!

Star Wars weekends at WDW....unfortunately, we will be there this year, too....this will be the second one that we booked our trip and then realized SWW was at MGM/Hollywood Studios...Dno't get me wrong, I love the original movies (haven't seen 2-3 because I hated 1 so bad! UGH!) but I don't like the crowds of people there for that. I usually try to avoid these things but we booked the trip for the day after the last day of school for Tori to go with our good friends that we haven't been to WDW in over 7 years with! SO can't change because it's all booked, so I guess we'll just avoid the park those days. Josh is thrilled and guess his family will go there those days but not us!

PaDisneyCouple - I may have asked this before but where are you in central PA (sorry if I did and forgot!)? I was talking with my MIL today and she told me that there were huge nurse layoffs in DH's hometown. Just wondering if it's the same area.

Yeah - we finally got you on here!!

Suziemva - Rexanne and her family were on the same April '06 cruise that you and I were on - that's where we met them actually, although they only live about 15 minute drive away from us! We all have to compare notes sometime - we're probably in each others pictures!!

Easter was good, kids and turkey put to bed (and by "turkey" I do not mean DH ). Must get ready to head there myself - back to work tomorrow . Enjoyed long weekend, but need to work to pay for the cruise!

We are from St. John's, Newfoundland Canada and we love everything there is about Disney.


Can someone fill me in on the Fish Extender Exchange? I haven't been able to read thru all of the 136 pages on the discussion group yet so I am a bit behind in the discussions. I know about the t-shirts from Valerie and we will definitely have ours done for the cruise. Are we doing treat bags as well?

Fish Extenders......
Are a mail box of sorts.........

They hang from the fish outside your room and are used to collect gifts from other DIS CRUISERS!
Thus the inofrmation baout the ages and sex of each child in room.
Little gifts like..........tatoos and candy bars. Nothing big.....makes the cruise extra special!

GIFT BAGS......FOR HALLOWEEN?????
OUR DARLING DREAMCRUISER100 is heading up the dis halloween trick or treat she did A WONDERFUL job last year as i am sure she will again this year!! She will let us know what to bring for that!

We're south of Harrisburg. No nursing layoffs that we're aware of.

DH is from Tyrone/Altoona area (State College/Penn State territory). They've been having a lot of problems with the smaller area hospitals. No longer delivering babies at Altoona Hospital, etc. This has contributed to the layoff which is already in a "in trouble" area. Small towns have such issues that big towns don't see. We have so many large hospitals in my area, I just can't fathom the problems they're having!

I just can't say it enough, THANK GOD FOR THOSE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD!! There are just things I won't do for anyone that Nurses, CNA, etc have to do! Better people than I.....

You are right suziemva. I do things that I never dreamed I would do before I became a nurse. I am to a point that naked people seem the norm, no thrill there. I would probably not notice anyone streaking. It would be nice to have a conversation that does not include references to body fluids.
The plus side is the wonderful stories the geriatric patients tell me. Once in a while I meet people who actually say thanks. I like my coworkers, we find things to laugh at every day. I love what I do, just not the politics of our facility. Still looking for something else.

I found a house I liked in Auburndale, Fl. I am going to call about it tomorrow. I think I will start my application for my nursing license endorsement too. I have wanted to move for the last dozen years and I am not getting any younger.
