We have two girls, one is 17 and the other 13. This will be our 5th Disney cruise - you will get hooked!!!! I don't know much about the excursions on Costa Maya, but we would love to meet up with you and have a nightcap at the Cove Cafe one night.

I'm happy to report our halloween party tickets arrived on Friday!! Yay!! It gets more real every day!!

I sooooo wish we were leaving today!!!

Seems like everyone is busy - and the sail date is getting closer!! Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day - it freakin' snowed here!! We went looking for icebergs (there are TONS around this year, which is why it's still so cold) so I could take pictures and post them for you all to see, but the weather was too lousy to get any shots. Oh well, will try again next weekend.

Went to bingo tonight of all things!! It was a fundraiser for our local Minor Hockey. Didn't win a thing - my SIL won $100 on tickets, lucky skunk. Playing on the cruise is much more fun! Main topic at our table was Disney - we are all Disney nuts!

On chat the other night, we were talking about the Fish Extender exchange, and wondering if it might be a good idea to be split into 2 smaller groups - 25 families is our last count I believe, and that seems pretty large. What does everybody else think?

Chat has been great lately - alot more people joining in. (Not that I was getting tired of your company Amy!). And the system seems to be cooperating, which is great. Hope you all can get a chance to join in.

Okay, that's my 2 cents for tonight. Hope Angelina is feeling better, Michelle, and you get some answers soon.

Happy Nurses Week to all our nurses on here.

Valerie

How cool to have a "nurses week" - do nurses actually benefit in any way! I don't think we have anything like that over here.

What is the general consensus on the Fish Extender exchange - having never done it before I am not that clued up on what is a manageable number of people / rooms. I'm also sure we may have some more signing up before we leave. Perhaps we should do a poll.

My Halloween tickets encountered a problem and could not, for some reason, be delivered by Fed Ex - so I will have to phone Mickey to sort it out. It appeared they left a letter out of my home town and maybe that confused the computer or something. Hopefully will get it sorted.

We (DH and I) are having a day out shopping today - looking for some cruise clothing :cheer2: and having a nice lunch out. The weather is lovely here at the moment which makes doing anything at all a lot nicer. Sorry to hear you are still having snow Valerie!

Arlene - you seem so busy - hope your house move goes well :wizard:

and some more  for Michelle and Angelina!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for Taryn and Rachel and anyone else doing school exams at the moment!

Hope you get this all worked out soon! Our's didn't come via Fed-Ex - but I guess you being in another country that was the way to work it . . . nothing makes the vacation more real then actually holding tickets in your hand!

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes.... I can not remember what I updated about Angelina last.... Friday I took her back to the Pediatrician . He is FINALLY very worried. He actually called the childrens hospital to talk with a raidiologist. They both agreed that maybe there is some kind of abdominal blockage and she need a CT scan of her abdominal and pelvic areas. So we are waiting to get an appointment. In the mean time I just should continue to keep a close eye on her(duh). She has really lousy insurance so we have to have pre-auth. before we can get an appointment.
All I can say is thank God for cruise planning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Valerie. It might be a good idea to split the exchange into 2 groups. What does everyone think?

We were just talking about this last night and DH is making me come off the list. "I don't want to have to spend my whole time doing this stuff, there's a lot of people!!" He's not a grouch, just really wants us to have relaxing, family time. So, if we split it, maybe I can talk him into letting us stay.....I think it sounds fun but a bit overwhelming, too.

Michelle, I hope Angelina's appt will shed some light on whatever is going on and to get it resolved soon! Hugs to you all!!:grouphug:

We have huge sinkholes in our area now due to all the rain we've had lately. The latest is just a few miles from our house and crosses both lanes of the divided highway. Seems to be about 30 feet deep and all you can see is the water pipe (still intact, thank goodness!!). At least the next two days should be nicer so that maybe things can dry out.

VACRUISERS - how are you guys down there? I know they had some tornados the other day - a few touched down in Stafford. Hopefully all is okay with you guys.

We have to have our 2 1/2 year old stove fixed today. It keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking and is driving me crazy! And then the dryer started making funny noises yesterday, so the Maytag repairman will be a bit busy at our house today....of all days....I needed to be out doing errands but have to be home 'cause they can't tell me when he'll be here! Not even if it's am or pm!! I hate worker schedules like that! I was a dispatcher for a moving company for 6 1/2 years! I was able to tell every person that called a time within an hour when the crews would be there! AND we called the ones that didn't call us for times! They start dispatching at 8:30 but we can't CALL THEM until 9:30....geez, the guy could already be here by then (obviously isn;t right now 'cause I'm here typing!)!!! SOOOO frustrating......

Okay, rant over. I'm dealing.....

BigBen, what's the offiical countdown??? Can't wait for this cruise!!

OK - I think we should post a poll to see who wants to split the Fish Extender Exchange into 2 groups and who wants to keep it with the total amount of people - anyone know how to post a poll?

here is a link to a slideshow of the wildfires around me, these pics are from the next town north of me. we can see the smoke and SMELL it, yuck! we have alot of our firfighters out there helping, im praying they all they stay safe. ALOT of people have lost there homes and pets, so sad. i can only hope they get them (the fires) under control soon.

We have a lot of smoke here too, Amy.

Prayers going up for all the firefighters and anyone near a fire!

I do not know how to do a poll ,but I think 2 groups would be a good idea. Maybe we could split them up by decks.

It is so terrible. Last year it felt like the state was on fire. When georgia had the big fires last Downtown Disney was heavy with smoke. How windy is it by you guys today? We have a steady breeze going on.

CurlyKate and I were talking today about the Fish Extender exchange and how with such a large group we'd have to prepare/pack alot of stuff - one of the reasons I hope it gets switched to two smaller groups. Then we remembered the Trick or Treat event as well. Does anyone have any idea what our contributions are supposed to be for that? Between supplies for FE and TOT and Pirate Night costumes and Halloween costumes I'm thinking I'm going to have to ask the airline if they'll allow me to attach a trailer to the flight! I know alot of this stuff could be purchased in Florida, but neither of us are renting cars, and we're staying on Disney property, so that limits what we can get there.

Thanks everyone - just trying to get my head around what I still need to do
& prepare before the cruise.

Hope the fires stop soon. When we cruised in April 2006 there were fires happening then too - our town car driver talked of being stuck on the highway for a few hours because they weren't letting cars through. Praying for everyone to be safe.

Ed and I were talking about that tonight too (were you eavesdropping?!) and remembering how thick the smoke was that cruise and how they had just reopened the road and we saw the scorch marks and could actually see the fires off to the side. Our driver was telling us how bad some of it was that we couldn't even see! We only saw the highway stuff.

Prayers to all to stay safe!!!!
