October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

Well, as I posted before, my DH has 'surprised' me by wanting to dress up for Halloween. He was always onboard for Pirate night, but just not organized about it. Thank goodness for the internet! We're still working on Halloween, but will be dressed up.

Did I see mention of an adult Halloween party?

We're planning to pack on Sunday...hair and pedicure tomorrow, plus dinner and a way cool concert tomorrow night.

I may be a redhead by the time y'all meet me!

Wow this thread is busy! Just came on real quick just got home from work..I have been crazy busy I guess that is the price I pay for wanting to take a vacation! The bright side is that this time next week I will be in Florida anxious and excited about seeing and boarding the Magic for the first time!

Any way plan for this weekend...(work from home), pack (Shelby told me today she is packed already.....what when did she do that?) clean house and try to clean out fridge as much as possible. Good intentions but we will see if it does not get done I guess I will be doing it all on Wednesday before we leave on Thursday.:scared1:

Oh and still no cruise docs....:sad2: But TA said they should be here Monday at the latest...WHAT? :scared: Am I the only one without these?

Alright I am thinking positively, but does not seem real without the cruise docs.

Well I am off to bed...soo tired.

Sorry, we're the party poopers. Love dressing the kids, but not us. Last time Ed dressed up as anything it was an ugly blonde housewife with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth mask in my pink fuzzy bathrobe! The chest hair coming out the nightie and robe was just not pretty. Hence, never dressing him up again!!! Oh, I was a pretty pirate wench....back then I could get away with it!!!

You paint quite a picture:lmao: Many moons ago (college years) Gary dressed as a hillbilly housewife... U-G-L-Y!!!:scared1: I thought the 5 o'clock shadow was most attractive...:rotfl2:

My hubby will be dressed up for both Halloween and Pirate night - as will friends of ours who will be dining with us (early seating). But hear your fears - I've been dreading him - for that matter us! - being dressed up and no one else!

Valerie

Yeah!!! We're not alone!!!

Me and the kids have a group costme planned. I will also dress up at the adult Halloween party. Chris (dh) is on the fence. Pirate night, Kayla has an outfit--from our last cruise. The boys have skull t-shirts and that is one that me and dh skip. We'll don the DCL bandanas, but that 's it. I do love seeing everyone's pirate outfits though!!pirate:

Can you knock him off the fence :rolleyes1 Go for the pirate: costumes too:rotfl:

Hooray... more for me to tell DH. FYI, I just added red to my hair color too. Not sure what color it would be naturally, but for fall I'm blond/brown/red kind of like the leaves:rolleyes:

Whoo-hoo countdown to Canaveral...:woohoo: :woohoo: :dance3: :dance3:

Must :laundy: :laundy:

Woo Hoo! We are off to the airport in 8 hours ( I really should go to bed :lmao: ). Our plane takes off at 10:30AM MST and we get to Florida at 4:13PM. We're going to hit Magic Kingdom when we get in and watch Spectromagic and Wishes. Spectro is my all time favorite parade, I can't wait.

I'm taking my laptop with me for the first time with plans of posting at night - we'll see how that goes. I have good intentions anyway :goodvibes

We'll see everyone in just a little over 7 days :cool1:

Hello All,

We're getting into to FLA, Orlando on Friday the 24th :cheer2: and staying at the Hyatt airport hotel.

I was wondering if I should put my luggage tags on at home, or are my bags going to the ship area on Friday. Maybe I should be bringing my luggage with me to the hotel then back out to the DCL check in area or something.:confused3

Can't wait to go

See everyone soon,
Bill, Keri, and the girls

Bill, don't put the luggage tags on til Saturday morning and your transportation to DCL. Otherwise they will pull your luggage at the airport and you won't see it at all on Friday!

The Hyatt has luggage pickup (you should have gotten an e-concierge email yesterday-ish that has a form on it). They also will help with getting your luggage out on Saturday for ME if that's what you're taking.

Happy Saturday All!!! :cool1:

Just think, this time next week, we will be crashing the gate a Port Canaveral... We can do it the easy way and make it look like a clown car or the hard way and make it look like 300 ppl trying to get through a doorway at once... :lmao:

I vote for option 2! ;) :rotfl2:

Anyway, accomplished absolutely nothing yesterday except for a wonderful nap! And today is my "lil" brothers football game (it will be the last one of the season that I can make it to) so I am off for that soon.... Hopefully, I will be awake enough when I get home to do everything I need to do....

Hey Suzie,
Do we have a QOTD? :thumbsup2

Hey Suzie,
Do we have a QOTD? :thumbsup2

You beat me to it, Jenn!!! Yes, sorry. Started getting ready for the day and packing while thinking. This is the best I could come up with today....again, apologies!!

QOTD:
Do you pack for your family, do they do their own and do you double check after them?! :lmao:

This is in honor of my YIPPEE packing today!! 5 more days for us!!!

I do my packing, Ed does his (with my "help") and we both do the girls together so that I don't forget anything (Ed says it to keep me from overpacking! Yeah, right! Me? Overpack? Nah!).

Good thoughts for Isa and Abby. They are at a BIG swim meet this weekend at University of Maryland. Isa swims today and Abby today and tomorrow. This is a BIG one for them! (this is also where Isa met Michael Phelps last year!!!! Wonder if he'll be there this year? Hmmmm.....do I have time for a road trip?!:lmao: )

Howdy everyone.:rotfl:

In response to the packing question, I do most of the packing. DH does his own but i recheck whats being packed. DH is on a business trip Mon thru Thurs this coming week. :confused3 So he is packing for that. I am overseeing the cruise packing. He will be home Thurs. and we leave on Friday. No time for laundry inbetween!!

Sounds like you are all a great group and can't wait to make connections at the port.

I am having to work today as it is my saturday rotation so I am just drooling and thinking of where I will be next week and what I could be doing now with my FE gifts. I am halfway done making them.

safe travels everyone:dance3: :dance3:

QOTD:

Nelson and I generally pack together. No children to pack for so that is easier for us than most of you! ;)

Good luck to Abby and Isa!!!! And Suzie... If Michael Phelps is there, I would make the road trip! :lmao: Hmm.... MA to VA - that won't take too long.... :rotfl:

Can I hijack the QOTD and ask another one?

How many others are traveling without children (I mean the under 18 variety ~ I know we are all children at heart).

One week from today and we should be on the bus to DCL!!! It is supposed to be decent weather (partly cloudy, which means partly sunny!)

We are staying at the Hyatt the night of the 24th.

I plan to start packing today - I do the packing. DH lays out a few t-shirts and shorts that he wants (usually his most worn), I select better shorts and a decent t-shirt to wear when boarding, we both select shirts and slacks for dinner, and I get the tux and accessories out. DH could make it a week on the cruise with a few items tossed in a plastic bag. :goodvibes But he is really a good sport and goes along with my selections without complaint.

See you real soon!

suzanne

HOLY SNIKIES!!!!!!
One week from now at this very time we will be at the prot waiting to board. I can't wait to meet you guys in person finally. Lunch at Topsiders is on me, so help yourself.

hi from sunny Orlando
No laptop with me boys wouldn't let me
Having a great time in the beach club
See u all next week

We are traveling alone without children :sad1: because they are all grown up. My boyz range in age from 26-23-20-20. Yes, that last one refers to twins--my babies. All college age and up and on their own. Still adjusting to not playing the role of mom. I will enjoy all the kids on board and meeting everyone's families.

:cool1:  :yay:

QOTD:
Do you pack for your family, do they do their own and do you double check after them?! :lmao:

Packing has gotten so much easier as the children have gotten older. Thank goodness!:) My children are finally, old enough to gather their own items! :thumbsup2 I give each child a packing list and they go to their rooms and gather their items. I then go in and "check" what they have out....sometimes I have to change a few things.;) I think my DH is worse then the kids. He wants me to be in the room and help him match his outfits:headache: We will spend every night this week packing for one person a night. By Thursday night we will be ready.:yay:

QOTD:

Well, my girls are finally at the point where I don't pack for them anymore. They do there own. I just ask them if they have this, that and the other thing and if not, they better get it in. My DH packs for himself. He has traveled so much that he knows what he needs. Besides, if he forgets something, he can't blame me  As for myself, I will get started tomorrow. Still trying to do :laundy: today.

We will be going to my dd's final marching band competition here in a little while. This is the State Contest. Should be fun. They placed first last year in their division. Hopefully will do so again this year. :cheer2:

I just keep thinking about next week. We only have 3 more workdays left and then we will be on vacation until Nov 3rd. Just can't wait until Next SATURDAY!!!!!
