I know there are tons of restrictions on the airplanes these days but does anyone know if you can bring crayons in your carryon for kids?

Crayons are still OK! I usally get them all new boxes of crayons and coloring books before we travel!!

It's hard to know these days what is all right to bring!!!!

And we just celebrated 18 years of marriage on the 29th of September. And we have been together a total of 21 years. Boy, am I aging myself or what? I was 19 when we met.

Chris, I met Ed when I was 18 almost 19, we're going on 18 years married (Nov) also and have been together 21 years! WOW!

And yes, we are aging ourselves......!!!! Nice to find someone else that can say they've been with their spouse for over half their lifetime!

I know you can take pillowcases or photo matte's to guest services with a Sharpie pen and they will return it to you at the end of the cruise with all the character signatures BUT.....

Does anyone know if you can give them a small scrapbook and get all the signatures that way? Hate to miss some of the signatures because of long lines. Sometimes if the lines are really long they wont even let you get signatures when getting your picture taken. They limit it to photos only

As the time is getting closer I really have to get some things finished. I would love to work on my t-shirts. I just do not know what color the shirt should be? I think I read green somewhere, But I cannot find the post!! :confused3 :confused3 Thanks!!!

In addition to the small scrapbook question, I have another preparation question:

Last year I think we just went through guest services to charge our tips to our credit card. This year we want to bring cash and place it in envelopes. What do we need to do to ensure Disney doesnt charge us twice for the tip? One from our cash and second automatic tipping on our credit card? It may be a very silly question but I just dont want this vacation to be more expensive than it already is! Expensive but FUN of course!

I believe they said green (DIS green, that is!), orange, or black.

Point for you Suzie - logged in to answer the t-shirt question, but you beat me to it!

As for the tipquestion - DCL doesn't automatically charge you lie the other lines - so you shouldn't get charged twice.

I accomplished alot today :woohoo: 3 t-shirts done  and 2 magnets :yay: . need to get another t-shirt - the one I bought for Alex is too small :sad2: and more transfer and magnetic paper. Soon time to pack!!

OH MY GOODNESS - just realized we're into single digits :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo: . 9 more sleeps :cheer2: :dance3:

You can add us to that club :)

Al and I started dating when we were both 19 (four weeks after dating he asked me to marry him:lovestruc ) and, as it says in my signature, we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on this cruise!!!

Sorry if this has been mentioned. I don't follow this thread much, but being in charge of the 11 people in our group is enough for me to handle! Ha Ha!

So...did anyone else get a refund recently on the price of the cruise? We booked way back in Feb. '07, so maybe the price has decreased. I think everyone in my group got some money back. We go $395. :cool1:
I am definately keeping the appointment for my 'Couple's Villa" now!

Is anyone going on the 7 Mile Beach Excusion on G.C. OR has anyone done B4? Just wondering if you could do it on your own. Seem like a lot of money to go to the beach. I just want to make sure we are safe and do not get lost.

Last time we were in G.C. we spent the day on 7 mile Beach. The entire 7 mile stretch is "public beach" , but keep in mind much of it is developed by resorts who do not allow you to use their facilities/chairs/shade etc. We found that in many areas the "beach" is quite narrow because the resorts of course claimed as much area as possible. That said, once we found a comfortable semi-private area we enjoyed just hanging out in the sand and surf...it was so relaxing... until one of our kids "had to potty".:headache: Being the resourceful Mom that I am:idea: I of course decided to "inquire" inside the office of one of the resorts about rates and guest services etc;) ... I'm sure they knew it was a ruse to get to the restrooms, but what are they going to do...at that point I was a potential customer/guest. All that to say you definately can enjoy 7-mile beach without the full excursion. Keep in mind we had packed our own lunch before leaving the ship. If you don't do the excursion finding somewhere to purchase lunch may be a little challenging, depending upon where you are along the beach. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Okay - here's what I learned (aka... "Iron Ons for Dummies" )

- make sure you measure and check for "levelness" - helps to make sure its centered and also not "squish" (By the way, would appreciate it if no one looked too closely at Alex's shirt :rolleyes1 )

- make sure you load it into your printer properly :guilty:

- make sure you remove the backing before you put it on the material :rotfl:

- to avoid the "scorched look" :sad2: your iron needs to be set to "dry", not "steam" - and I learned to put a thin cloth over the parchment paper - between your iron and the parchment paper

- which brings me to number 5 - don't forget the parchment paper :guilty:

and 6 - make sure it's facing the right way when you place it on the material. I used 2 different types of iron ons, one face up, one face down. I now have a dishcloth with a pic of Mickey on it ;)

I started these with "make sure..." because even though the instructions on the package say the exact same things, someone who shall remain nameless :rolleyes1 still made these exact same mistakes. I'm not saying it was me :sad2: but a ...cough...cough..."friend".

Oooh - almost forgot...anyone else having nightmares yet???

Dreamt last night that we were on the ship 2 days before I even realized it, and were in a room in a basement kind of place next to maintenance and storage - it was actually attached to our cabin, so crew had to go through our cabin to get to the machinery. I also not only didn't have my FE hung up, but no dowel or ribbon attached to it to hang it up, and had left my FE list home. Was wandering the halls looking for FE's to see if I could find someone's I'd recognized so could ask them to share their list. This was supposed to be day 2 - and I hadn't eaten yet! The kids weren't registered for the kids' clubs, so couldn't keep track of them, and I had also missed the DIS meet, and hadn't met any of my DIS friends! Didn't have my lanyard from Dana, and was afraid I wouldn't get one :scared: I woke up when I was saying to myself in my dream - "there's no way I would be this disorganized - this has got to be a bad dream!" :rotfl:

Moral of the story - go easy on the turkey next year. Oh - Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone!"

(Reminds me of the days right before we got married - I'm also in that club, Brian and I have been together 18 years) and dreamt that I was walking down the aisle in a dress that only went to my knees in the front, and was wearing black knee socks and black shoes. Another one was me walking down the aisle wrapped in one of my grandmother's homemade patchwork flannelnette blankets - which was my dress!)
