Thanks to those of you debating on allowing some of us newbies to participate in your already scheduled activities. It it very kind of you. I honestly feel you set the deadlines with very fair dates. I don't even know what FE refers to I don't expect you to change your schedule or alter the arrangements that have already been made. I would feel guilty to be inconveniencing the other dis participants. I'm just glad to know about disboards now, and I'm just truly hoping to meet some fellow Disney lovin' families. We have been added to the roll call. Look forward to meeting you onboard. We have 2 girls ages 8 and 10 who are counting the days till we get aboard.

Ames Dizney 1: Let us know something about you (which will help you get 10 posts and the ability to do private messages) and I am sure some of us (or at least one) will have something to put in your FE.

Start with names: self, DH (husband), DS or DD (sons or daughters) or others, and ages, cabin number, first time cruiser? birthday or anniversary or other celebration? (The D is Disney or Dear). I am assuming you are the wife (DW) - but not always the case. Some husbands seem to be the driving force behind the family's Disney cruise.

This group is doing random FE gifts; no days designated for specific items (some groups do things from hometown/state, etc). There does not seem to be a cap on spending, top or bottom. I say give what you find fun to do. I am having a great time finding things to fill different categories: Disney, Halloween, cruising, etc. Most fun is making magnets for doors. I have spent hours designing, trying to be appropriate based on what I have read about likes, interests.

If anyone else wants to join Ames, why not just put a post here and you can create a group. Just supply the above information and let each other (and the rest of us) know that you are really going to participate. I think we have our FE groups listed earlier in this thread (which would tell you where our cabins are). If not, Totally Angelic, does. ... And yes, it is more blessed to give than to receive; good lesson for the kids.

Totally Angelic: Oops, I got Ireland confused for Wales and gave JNS credit for your hard work. And you are a first-time cruiser, right?

The fish extender exchange is basically Secret Santa, just not secret. The fish is beside your cabin door, used by Disney to leave you mail. Someone thought to put a hanging pocket organizer below it and leave mail and gifts for other people.

If you have time and the notion to give some gifts to others (it makes it more like Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanza/Eid-ul-Fitr, doesn't it?), why not let us know here and get others (like Ames Dizney 1) to join you?

I think this is a great idea to create a new group for all newbies to participate in FE!

TOT is a little different. We have a specific number of bags that were purchased which is why a deadline date was set.

So I think adding a new FE group is doable, but probably not for the TOT.

My girls are also 8 & 10 and my name is Michelle so we definitely have to meet! lol

Everyone should feel free to come to any meets/tastings/pics etc. It will be a lot of fun! And don't feel bad about popping in - we're glad you found us!

I have no problem doing another group of FE for me. I will stay in my group but as I already had others in my "own" list, I would be happy to add more into it! I hate to leave anyone out. WHOOHOO!! More FE stuff!! lmao: most of you know my FE story anyway....!!!)

Michelle is right though about Trick or Treating. We only ordered what bags we had for the kids that were signed up by the deadline. I'm sorry about that but thankfully there is always the DCL ToT!!!

I'm Nicole, aka "Mama Glutton", I'm a harried (not hairy! LOL) multiple job working registered nurse, almost nurse practitioner living in Tampa, Florida with my husband, my 12 year old son, and turning 10 year old daughter.

If you PM me the cabin numbers, I'd love to pop goodies into fish extenders! I'm hyper! Of course I prepared too many! LOL

Anyway.................. welcome! The anticipation for this cruise is building to an unbearable level! My inlaws are coming too! Their first cruise!

Apparently I annoyed somebody by posting this all over the DIS...

I didn't mean to and I apologize if anyone reading this feels the same.

I simply thought it would be a good way to get a message "out there".

I thought maybe if I give you the reason I did this, it might help sooth any frayed nerves.

My baby brother, Tommy, was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 6 months old (two weeks before Christmas). Although, he was lucky enough to receive the very best treatment (including a bone marrow transplant with our own father as the donor) ~ he passed away when he was 1.5 years old. It has been 16 years. My brother would be 17 right now if that dreadful disease had not taken him from us.

The type of Leukemia my brother had, is now, due to the advances in research at hospitals like St. Jude, very treatable and has a high remission rate.

Anything I can do to help St. Jude's ~ I do...

I didn't get online in time to go to Chili's for dinner, but did notice the one closest to my house was packed tonight! Now I know why! We have a St. Jude's Hospital here in Tampa.

Me? Drink coffee? I live on the stuff, often skipping solidsin favor of drinking coffee all day long.


DOTD? Oh YEAH!

Never been to Serenity Bay. This trip we'll spend the first CC day together, the second the kids will hang with their clubs and the grown ups will go to Serenity Bay.
