Ahem...

For those of you enduring the pelvic ultrasounds...

Do they still use the wand that they put a prophylactic on?

HI - they used a wand but I'm not sure what they put on it - a lubricant definitely but not sure what it was or if it was prophylactic. Sorry. I didn't ask too many questions - it was a lie back and think of England (or in my case Wales) situation! Sorry TMI for most people I'm sure!

They were working on this disposable silicon based wand thing that the ultrasound waves could beam through about 10 years ago when I worked L&D.

I was wondering if it ever came to fruition. It seemed like such a great idea. I was sure it was going to change the way pelvic ultrasounds forever. The clinic I was doing my precepting at during my NP program was testing it back in 1998.

For those not working in healthcare, I'm sorry if it icks you out.

I just thought it was a great invention and figured it would become the new standard. I met the lady who came up with the idea and always wondered if she became a millionaire because of the product.

Picnic day has arrived. pluto:
Today is the 4th annual Keysone Greyhounds Reunion Picnic. I switched my weekend to work so that we could attend. Christine has prepared the salad: broccoli, carrots, tortellini, zucchini, and tomatoes. With a balsamic vinagrette, fresh basil, parsely, and garlic dressing. Dianne's (the leader of our group) Mom turns 100 today. Many have send photos and cards for her to enjoy. Since they'll be raffles, auctions, and the Keystone Greys store, I'd better pack some $$$.

A belated happy birthday Sarah. And get well soon.

Wow...5 weeks. Chris and I really need to kick it into gear soon. I don't even have the itinerary memorized :lmao: (but, I do have this really thorough word file)
:groom:

Sean, have a great time at the picnic - gorgeous day here, hope you have the same!

WOW! 100!!! I can only hope to live to see 70! Most people in my family pass before then...although dad just turned 72 last Sunday, so you never know (and we all know how horrid his health is!!!).

Nicole, side note, Tori was reading over my shoulder and asked if it was a Princess WAND! :lmao: :lmao: Oh, be careful little eyes what you read......

That sounds like an interesting invention, especially for anyone allergic to latex... I had a t/v u/s two years ago and I don't really remember (I was in the middle of a miscarriage as it turns out). The two u/s I had last week on Monday were external... but Tuesday I had another test... ahhhh Tuesday, do not remember it fondly. I had a hsg. No fun at all. :sad2:

Sounds like great fun for all three of you Sean! :dance3:

Hope you all have a great time....:goodvibes

Okay people. I really need a response on this...

Are you staying at the Hyatt on the 24th? Would you want to get together for dessert or something that night?

I really wouldn't mind planning something and meeting up with others (yes, Dana, I know we're doing dinner already!) before the cruise!:dance3: How fun!

that would have been really great Suzie but we are already at MNSSHP on the 24th - we will have to wait to meet you on the 25th (just think of it as a day's reprieve for you all)

I was wondering if others will be wearing their costumes to dinner on Halloween? Carrie would wear it all day if I let her.

Suzie,

We are trying to get a fairly inexpensive :lmao: room on property for that night in order to go to MNSSHP... If that does not work out - we will probably stay at the Hyatt...

I know that does not help you much, so lets put it this way... if we stay at the Hyatt... we would be happy to have dessert and/or drinks with you guys that night...

Am I right in that we will be on CC during Halloween? If so, my bathing suit is scary enough for a costume during the day... and I will wear my other costume to dinner and for pictures, etc...

I'll be joining you all on 10-25.
Me and my best friend who moved to Colorado.
Can't wait.

Wow! What a day. Feels like it should be later than 19:45. Had a great time. Max met many other needlenoses. Lots of compliments on his dark brindle coat. Saw Izzy, from his obedience class, and Mack, the grey that came to our house for the site visit. Bought him a coat (nylon with light fleece), garden stone, and a muzzle (greys wear them when playing together, just to protect from nipping). We got our picnic shirts, and won something in the silent auction: a framed photo holder. About 8x20, with a cutout of "I (heart) my greyhound". I guess you can customize it with photos of your grey, to show through the letters. And 2 shilohette greyhound cutouts. Talked with someone who said the crowd was bigger last year. Today, it looked like 100-125 hounds, and 175 people.

Absolutely! If it is permitted dress code for dinner we will be wearing it I'm sure!

Moosysmom and friend - welcome aboard!

Sean and Christine - sounds like a great day - hope all the dogs were well behaved!

Can I just ask a question: are the stores in Florida likely to have lots of halloween candy etc as I am reluctant to buy it here and add to my baggage weight to bring it on the flight if there is likely to be plenty of stuff available over there, and probably much better stuff too.
