So you can still sign up - the better idea we have of numbers, the better we can pick a location.

Please add dh and I to the list above...

I would love to see this be on formal night, but that is simply my opinion...

I am trying to think of a location.... There is always the Atrium.... It would be cute in front of the doors of Lumiere's or even on the stairs... especially if we did it on formal night...

Okay Jenn, done. But actually, you were already on the list anyway. If you click on the link in my siggie, it's an up to date list - but the one on the main page is still linked to the original list in the first thread, so won't let me update it.

Janice - think you could fix that? I think you have to do it, since it's the first post.

Also Jenn, I agree that formal night would be a great photo. Will see what Shutters gets back to us with. I also love the photo you posted - it's so good to put faces to names.

I'm going to do a couple of quick posts to get my PM-qualifying status

TO: TotallyAngelic

I appreciate the chance to join the Fish Extender activity. Here's my info:
Lynne Cornelison (47), Dsis Ann Vincent (48), Dnieces Julie Vincent (17), Karen Vincent (15), and Linda Vincent (12).

Is there a thread covering the guidelines/norms for fish extender gifts?

We are in cabins 6134 and 6135 (don't know who's in which room yet; they are directly across the hall from each other).

(I booked this trip last September; just didn't know about this forum until I was trying to find information on Google.)

PS: I was in Wales in May, visited Tintern Abbey while on holiday in the Cotswalds.

Tara - I actually got a letter a while back from DCL telling me that we weren't going to Costa Maya. I guess now we could be called a Western Caribbean/Double Dip cruise. I've been calling it a Costa Maya cruise for so long I hadn't broken the habit. But I'm looking forward to driving little rubber boats at Grand Cayman, so I can't be sad.

Thanks, Lynne

Here's some bio: I am an RN, currently a stay-at-home daughter to my 79 & 81 year old parents. Mom is early Alzheimer's and Dad is limited mobility (one good body and one good mind between them). I've worked Neuro ICU and L&D and a smattering of other areas in between since BSN graduation in 1995. I am getting to enjoy their company and keep them happy while they are still here. No regrets.

I love Disney and have sometimes gone there for just a day. I live 12 hours away by car, 13 to the port (but flying is definitely easier than being behind the wheel).

I am just starting to learn golf and hope to play at WDW courses someday. I bought timeshares recently with Hilton and Marriott in Hawaii and think perhaps I should have gone with DVC instead for at least one of them.

Single. Never married. 47. And I go on Disney cruises instead of party cruises. I guess I'm just a big kid.

Any easy instructions for getting that great "Halloween on the High Seas" banner in the signature area? Whoever created it - Kudos.

What is the latest on DIS trick-or-treat? I saw a cutoff date of September 5 and information about bringing candy?

Lynne: I just thought it wasn't fair for you to miss the Fish Extender Exchange just because you had joined us after the deadline. I also have some people on the original list who I am not 100% sure about whether they are still involved - I have sent PMs to everyone on the list (apart from those I know for sure are joining in the exchange)

There are no rules for the Fish Extender Exchange really - it is really informal. You can have a look at post 1 on this thread for info about how to make one.
I will send you a list of your group, including ages of children, cabin numbers etc and then it's up to you when and how often you give gifts to the people in your group. It's that simple!

Thanks to everyone who had responded to the PM I sent - you are all very helpful!

Incidentally, I have never been to Tintern Abbey - in fact there are tons of places on my own doorstep which I have never visited, which is a shame.

Jenn: I think your postcard idea is great - and it would make a great souvenir too!

Lynne: This is the post with all the Trick or Treat information: the deadline is September 5th so leave a message for Jackie (JNS) if any of your nieces whish to take part.

Everyone: I think the general consensus of those who have replied (in fact it is unanimous so far) is for 3 FE groups, so that is what I will do! Hopefully I will get some more confirmation PMs in the next few days and I can get cracking with the lists! It's all getting very exciting!:cheer2: (I was tempted to use the banana man here but Jenn's right - he is a bit freaky!)

YIKES! I'm off the computer for a few days and I have more to catch up on than when I was gone for a week!!!:scared1:

Dana, I'm so sorry to hear about the work situation. Please call me if you need to talk. I'm not a wealth of assistance but I do have two good listening ears!

Janice, totally missed about your loss. Please accept our condolences and let us know if you need anything. We're not too far away if you do!

LYNNE! We're literally a few doors down from you! We're in 6130 and 6131!~!! Howdy, neighbor! I commend you on taking care of your parents, not an easy job. But my philosophy is that they took care of us when we were little, it becomes our job to take care of them when the time is right. Kudos!

I know I've forgotten a lot of things I wanted to say, and I read through things so fast I've totally lost things, so let me apologize now to those I have!

I'm hoping to be on chat tonight. I miss everyone terribly. School has started well but with the same issues. Energizer Bunny Tori can't sit still during mat time (UGH!) and can't finish her lunch in the alloted time because she's talking/playing around too much! I'm trying to make it to her lunch time today to sit with her but I know she's excited to see her friends and make new ones (she says she has a new Spanish friend in her class, tells me about her but can't remember her name!!! Typical!).

Been getting to bed earlier (10 pm) so that I can get on a schedule. Have to be up at 7 am now to get Tori up. Things run so much smoother with a schedule. I'm trying to limit my computer time and work time each day so that I'm not burning the candle at both ends. Dieting is on the books now too. Didn't gain or lose anything at Disney (usually lose a bit but that darn Dining package was too much!! Still had snacks left before we came home!!)

Played Mr. Potato Head (Disney pieces of course!) and blocks with Ameera today while doing laundry. Feels good to have time with her again. Miss my Tori-girl while she's at school but I need this one-on-one with her again!

Dad went back in the hospital again while we were gone. Breathing issues again and cat allergies kicking in (lady died in his bldg and one of the cleaners is a friend of dad's and hugged him - sent him straight to the emergency room and been there ever since!). So waiting to see what's up with that but should be coming home today or tomorrow. Running errands for him again but had to let him know I had to do it on my schedule and nothing will be done urgently. I can't take that stress again.

Sorry to go on and on. Just updating. Feels like it's been forever!!!

Oh, Jenn, love the pics and the postcards! I'm trying to get myself together to start the name tags and clue/treasure maps for the ToT!

Amy/Rob or Missy - I really need to speak with y'all about the FE. I have some ideas and want to discuss!!!

Okay, think that's it for now.

Do you need some help with this??? I can help. I always need something to do at work besides work. :lmao:

Seriously though... I enjoy stuff like this so if you find it crowding your plate too much - send it my way...

Two more posts and then PM privileges (not that I need privacy).

Thanks mommy2777:

I'm getting some good hands-on experience in computer skills just by building my signature. The Halloween on the High Seas logo is supposed to show up.

Okay everyone, got a response to my e-mail about the photo op. This is the main thing we need to consider....

For a truly special memory, you may also choose to arrange a private photography session. There is a photography fee of $85, plus the cost of the photos. Guests may fax their request to Inventory Control at 407-566-6910.

Okay - do we want to pay $85 to do this? To be honest, my initial response is no :rotfl: , but wanted to know what other people think. If we don't want to arrange a special time with Shutters, I figure we have 2 options..

1. set this up ourselves and use the tripod/timer Amy has offered, as well as anyone else's camera. We could also request a passing stranger/cast member to take some pictures for us with a few of our cameras. The photos can then be circulated by e-mail.

3. pick an advertised photo op and all show up requesting to be done as a group.

I'll go along with the Shutters fee if that's consensus - we can again do donors, or divide the cost among those who show up. Thoughts?

Valerie

Hey Amy!! I want to know how to put the logo in my siggie too! You know me, I need to be lead carefully by the hand through anything to do with the computer :lmao:

And Jenn - you were looking for things to do at work - want a go at doing up a sign/banner for us for the photo op? We requested a volunteer, but don't remember if we actually had any takers. (If we did get a volunteer to do this, I'm sorry!!)

Valerie

Valerie, i just copyed and pasted the logo from hoths.net site and then made a link for it at photobucket...then you edit you signature, paste it there and voila!

I think either option would work out just fine...

The only thing we need to remember is that if we go with option 3 ;) , one of us just cannot go to shutters and buy the one flippin picture on the shelf... we would need to be able to get multiple copies (which i know will not be a problem on shutters part)...

As far as the sign for the picture... I sorta volunteered for that in chat one night.... but it is gonna be easy... I am going to buy one of these:

http://www.shindigz.com/catalog.cfm?cat=45564

I am leaning more towards

http://www.shindigz.com/catalog.cfm...loween Banners/Spider Web Personalized Banner

or

http://www.shindigz.com/catalog.cfm...ween Banners/Personalized Cat on Fence Banner

because of the simplicity... and then printing out the logo on 11*17 paper and covering the design on the banner with our logo...

I will be happy to provide the banner... They are only $15 for the 18*54 size... we used these banners (diff design obv) for our Relay for Life team this year and they were very nice....

Thoughts?
