October 22, 2005 Roll call

Kathy....that's so horrible....My heart goes out to your friend....
But on another note...I'm glad you got a good laugh coming to the board tonight.

Lets see last year today... :smooth: We were strolling around San Juan...enjoying the sights...taking some awesome photos....taking in the sun...and the rain (remember those down pours??) Oh...and one of our highlights of the day...finding STARBUCKS   . Then of course..I'm sure we all gathered around "the" table on deck 9 by the Mickey Pool...for some Bahama Mama's. Mmmmm Good.

Hey look!!! It's Tarzan!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I get the biggest grin (and chuckel) everytime I think of anyone saying that... :rotfl2: Now you know how to make me smile ;) Hmmmm maybe that's what/who I'll put on our stateroom door sign...heeheehee

Oh....Melissa I was going to say...I think the ship has Bonnie out for grabs down by the medical center. Key words..."I think"

Hope we get our documents soon also. Very upset about the fitness centre as have booked the one to one training session for our daughter and she is so looking forward to this. Would be very annoyed if it is cancelled and they have not advised me.

Skallywag - a couple people have posted elsewhere about this letter about the fitness center. I'm pretty sure they have said the equipment would be available for use in a different location (no clue where that would be!) but maybe than can still do the one-on-one whereever they have moved the equipment.

Kathy - I'm so sorry! We had, of course, heard about the accident - but I am so sorry it was a friend of yours. We are also going to a funeral this week (tomorrow) - DH's uncle had a massive heart attack on Sunday right after his grandson's wedding shower. It is such a shock since he never had any signs of heart trouble. His grandson is a paramedic and started immediate CPR & such, but couldn't help him.

I haven't started packing at all - I have a box in my closet where I toss "cruise stuff" as I think of it. I need to get organized and order a gift basket from Shirley for my parents. I also need to call DCL and find out the address to ship a box to the boat.

Cool! I just noticed that I passed 500 posts recently - I'm a DIS Cast Member now! :cool1:

Congratulations Pamela! :sunny:
We hope to one day earn our ears at least, maybe once we've done a cruise we will be able to give rather than always receive :goodvibes

Kathy,

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, I really hope that she will be alright. It sounds like she will have lots of support. I just can't imagine how terrible it must be. But I am glad that you were able to get a good laugh by visiting here.

Sandi, you are taking me down memory lane! Can it really have been a YEAR already? It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Why is it that a year can go by so fast, but the next 35 days will D R A G on? :confused3

Hi all, hope you don't mind me posting (or attempting anyway) my first attempt for the cruise magnet...any suggestions? thanks

nope that didn't work either :confused3

MNmousecouple...try putting a [/img] after the url. in order to post the pic :teeth:

My suggestion....try a larger font. ....And maybe it's just me....but I don't understand the first line. :groom:

Thanks Scrapper, I tried a larger font but then the first line rolled into a second. I guess what I was trying to say is that the cast members give the ship it's magic. Any better ideas on how to word it? :confused3
I never should have started browsing these boards, with the door magnet one and several others I have so much fun reading that I find it hard to get to doing it :rotfl2:
if I'm not making sense it might be the lortabs :earseek:

Thank you all for the kind words. I know that Cheryl & her family would appreciate it. She is very strong and I think will make it through this with all of her family & friends support, not to mention to officers her DH worked with.

On a happier note, 35 days?!? WOW!! Threesmiths, you are correct, it will DRAG, but unfortunately will be over before we know it. Oh, and what wonderful memories!! Bahama Mama's, Deck 9, San Juan, Que - and that is only the beginning!!

MNmousecouple, very nice sign. I too was confused by your first line though.

Kathy

Lortab....that would do it :teeth:

I hadn't thought of putting a "thank you" to the CM on the sign...that's a good idea.

I haven't finished my door sign yet...Well I can't really say that in a way...because I haven't finished our original door sign...but I have done the "dis" sign (added a little personal touch to it) and when I was working on pillowcases for the kids in our group...I printed a mock design to see how it looked printed and decided I liked it and sliped it into one of the sleeves...So in a way I have two signs made...but not the "one" I've been working on :teeth: With that one... so far I've kept is simple and just put our last names...the sail date...and I think I have the ports were going to. Last year I put something like...The Disney Magic Welcomes...the Lee family...from Washington. Then included the sail dates. In some ways I wish I didn't put the sail date on it...because that way I could reuse it this year. I had thought of leaving the dates off this time...but instead of getting magnetic sheets I purchased magnetic photo sleeves....so I can make my signs slip them in....change them if I want...then take them out and scrap them when we get home :teeth: Plus I'll have the magnetic sleeves to use....which I'm thinking they'll be great to keep our dd art work displayed on the fridge. Oh I just remembered I have a clip of a Mickey painting that I wanted to also use in some way or another...so there may be a possable 4th sign

I have never played with the design stuff until I found the Door Sign Thread, I have a steep learning curve I think. I like the photo sleeve idea I need to pick some up.
I have lots of ideas to try and figure out, hope I can get some of them done in time.
Lortabs is slowing down my thinking so probably not doing any pictures tonight.
R U Ready for the Mouse?!!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in. I've been so busy at work, with weddings and showers, etc. Life seems crazy! BOTH of my best friend's stepdaughters are getting married 7 weeks apart, so we've got 2 showers (that I'm giving) and 2 weddings within 7 weeks. October is always insane for me, something every weekend - giving a shower, going to Atlanta for my nephew's BD, attending another shower, going on the cruise, coming back from the cruise, and our actual anniversary is in there, too! Oh, and Halloween with my godchildren!

We booked using DVC points and don't have documents yet either.

See you all soon!

MNMousecouple: Cute sign! I have been trying my hand at some signs too....however I've been using DH's computer (instead of my laptop) which he does not connect to the internet. So I cannot post them (unless I can figure out how to save the file on his PC and pull it up on my Mac...not always compatible.)

ReneeQ: You are busy! I just noticed that you're in Savannah....I LOVE Savannah...I've only been once but will definitely return. DD's favorite (she was 3 at the time) was watching the tugboats in the river.

Holy cow, I just realized how much I've been on this board lately...I need to cut back..

Boy, the time sure seems to be flying around here. Probably because I am behind getting things like formal wear together. Having fun working on it, though.

Today I was on the DCL site and just for kicks ran a search for our date. The only cabin left for four people was a Cat 4. Guess we'll be pretty full.

We decided we are going to go a little earlier in the day and go to MNSSHP. :cheer2: We're not going to tell the kids, so they have a little surprise on their vacation. I must admit I am looking forward to it myself!

ThreeSmiths, for the purposes of transferring files across platforms - can you just save your file as a .jpg? That tends to work well for me when transferring from PC to Mac (as long as you don't want to modify it later). What program are you using on the PC/Mac?

MelissaE1,
After I read your post about remaining cabins I checked the remaining cabins for 2 or 3 guests. There's only Cat 6 GTY's left but for Cat 4 & 5 there were 8 cabins listed in each category and since they only list 8 at a time I am guessing there's more than 8 available in each of those categories. I will keep checking since I am hoping (I know the chances are slim) to pay for an upgrade to a verandah cabin at the Terminal.

I am looking forward to seeing the new big screen at the Goofy Pool! Should be interesting. I had hoped that there would also be wireless internet access in all the staterooms but I guess not.

24 more days!!! :cool1:

Fellow Disney Cruise Fanatics,
We are looking forward to celebrating our 30th Anniversary on The Magic October, 22, 2005. (I have been a Disney Fan since I marched in the afternoon parade in August of 1972 with the Mohawk Drum and Bugle Corp.) Of course, that was when Kissimmee was mostly open fields and farmland. During our 30 years of marriage, we have visited The Disney parks 1, 2, and 3 times a year and on March 4, 2001 added the Disney Cruise to our vacation list. Our hope is to visit Disney World over Christmas of this year.

We are now empty nesters and are looking forward to many future destinations with The Disney Cruise Line. This will be our 3rd cruise with Disney and fear disappointment if we travel with any other cruise line. Disney really does know how to treat their guests.

Looking forward to a meet on the ship.

5 more weeks
Robin

Hi Dyerneeds! Welcome to the thread :)

If you are interested, we have a cruise website (the address is below in my signature) which has info on the ports, schedules, etc. and a list of those here that have added their info. If you would like to be added to the Who's Going list, just let me know. You can post here, send a PM or send an email to pdarrah@sprynet.com.

Welcome Dyerneeds! Glad to hear you'll be joining us!

Timon, Just out of curiousity, is it beneficial price-wise to wait until you get to the terminal to upgrade?

Also, for anyone else out there that might have an answer: If you get upgraded and you do not want the upgrade, do you have a choice in the matter? What if you request a particular stateroom and then find out when you get your docs that you've been upgraded but would rather have your "original" room? Just curious.

MelissaE1: I think you're right, I probably can save the signs as a .jpg file and move it to the Mac. I've done that with other things and it worked okay. I'm using PrintShop on the PC, which is not Mac compatible. I will try it and see if I can't post my attempts at door signs.
