October 22, 2005 Roll call

Pdarrah... I did get your email and we are taking you up on your offer. I emailed our reservation number this morning. I will resend it now just in case you didn't receive it.

Please post it when you receive it.

Thanks,

Robin

Congrats to all of you who've gotten your doc's. The Fed Ex guy is teasing me. We've gotten packages all week long and they're all stupid business stuff!

Pdarrah-You've been working so hard to get the meets straight and I appreciate it. Being a novice at this I hesitate to say what I think would work. We would love to meet for pirate night and do a group photo and would be up for a few pool meets as well. I say just pick what works for you and post it. We'll do our best to make any/all meets you come up with. Thanks for the effort.

Congratulations to scapperjill and family on your daughter's excellent news. I know nothing is more frustrating than worrying over the health of your loved ones. Now you have something really special to celebrate this cruise!

nbrannan- We will be at the Wilderness Lodge Wed pm through Sat am. There is transportation from the lodge to the pier. This needs to be arranged prior (our travel agent did it for us). I'm sorry I don't have the details yet because we still don't have our docs but I will keep you updated, if you're interested. Otherwise I guess you have to go back to the airport and then from there to the ship. It seems to reason that if we're doing this so can you. I'm pretty sure that it's not that much more than the transfer price we were given from the airport to the ship (we booked our own air).

Hi everyone...
Meeting on pirate night sounds great to us. That'll make a great picture. We're up for a club meeting also.

Timon...
You did a great job on your website. It's a nice pick me up while waiting for docs. I bookmarked it and will probably be watching it frequently until we leave. I really enjoyed the videos.
If anyone needs a great DCL fix, go to Timon's website.

Walt & Di, I'll let you know more as soon as some of our problem people figure out their schedules, we have large group, about 50/50 to Magic or WDW. We have are (so far coming down on charter bus) but some are being evil and we may end up doing a private drive so we can get down there on our schedule :rolleyes1 Am hoping to be there (the cape) by 6pm friday.
Bud (lite  ) works good for me and DGF loves them Margarita's.
Timon.....I had gone thru your site before but missed Daddy's story.....
I feel for him now that I saw the new love of your life picture :rotfl2: :rotfl:
I vote for all cruise meets....gives more opportunities to meet all these fine people. sorry so long a post :earboy2:

MelissaE1- Happy Birthday to Alexandra! :cheer2: I hope she feels better soon. It is not fun being sick! We booked through allseas too, so that is why I am assuming they are later than most. We are doing MNSSHP on Friday night, which night are you doing it? I am glad you like the POP Century, we are staying there the night before.

Kathy

Thank you Kathy. :goodvibes

I talked to Tom at Allseas today and he says they don't have docs yet, I got the feeling he meant for anyone on our sailing, although I could be wrong. He said they were on it and they should be coming soon. I am not worried as long as they are here before we leave! :)

We are also doing MNSSHP on Friday. This is our first one, and it sounds like so much fun! It's a surprise for my kids, they think we are staying at the Port. Pop Century is a great value resort, we enjoyed our stay there. The theming is really cute. They have lots of memorabilia on the walls in the lobby and you'll have to explain to your kids that you played with that when you were little "in the old days" lol.

I'll keep you posted if I hear anything more about our docs.

Melissa :)

Wah Hoo!!!! Doc Dance time!!! :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:  :cheer2: :cheer2:

Our cruise docs came today and my parent's magical express tags (we're renting the car on Wednesday and they are joining us at WDW on Thursday)!

Unfortunately, still no Pirate costume for me... DH has emailed and they claim they are behind due to Katrina - I could see a slight delay (they are in St. Petersburg FL) since for a day or so know one knew which way it was going and they might have been preparing to evacuate, but I don't see why it would make it over a week late and still counting.... Supposedly, it will be shipped "Soon". pirate:

DIS Meets
It sounds like the Pirate meet is popular and I haven't seen any complaints on the location, so I will go ahead and put that on the website.

There have been a few replies in favor of the Mickey Pool and no "Ick - No, not that" responses! How about we just go for 3pm every day except Friday (Castaway Cay) and we'll just see how they go? Do we need a specific location by the Mickey Pool - like the side without the slide or the side behind the slide (near the drink station)?

The "grown up" club meet sounds like it has some support. ScrapperJill suggested either Sunday or Monday night. Sunday is Key West and we are supposedly sailing away at 10pm. Monday is formal night, but we could make it a little after late seating ends and everyone who wanted to could change out of the formal stuff. The events (according to the 9/10/05 navigators) for those evening are - Sunday is "60's Night' and Monday is the "Golden Mickey's After Party" One plus of doing it early in the trip is that if we all have fun we have time to say "let's do this again".

pdarrah....that's my thoughts on the adult meet also (if we do it early in the cruise and we have a good time we can plan for another one) I also thought of the fact that we don't leave Key West until around 10pm...but I figured with all the late dinning people...we really wouldn't be able to meet until close to that time any night. I think having the meeting at the Mickey pool every day at 3pm is good...of course I don't expect everyone to make it each day...but it'll give everyone a chance to try and make it once (if not more). IMO...the side without the slide would be best..that way we can keep our eyes on the kids in the pool :goodvibes.

Does anyone know when and where on formal night Mickey and Minnie are out in their formal wear? We looked for them last year for a pic...but NEVER found them :guilty: We went to the matinee showing of The Golden Mickeys...so I thought maybe that's why we missed them. Either way.....I don't want to miss them this time around.

Also does any one know what happens at the Golden Mickeys after party? I saw they have a family party and an adult party that night. I don't think we made it to the after party that night...

Did anyone take advantage of the documents DCL has available online? We went ahead and filled them out then printed them off....But I think that was more of the scrapbooker in me...wanting to keep the original forms :earboy2: to put in our album. :p

We to have only one booklet in our package but the label on the outside carton says you must fill in one for each passenger. Can anyone confirm it is o.k. to complete one or should we go to the webpage and print off just in case.

Dont want any delay in getting our trip started. Also still confused about section two on the Bahamas form - especially the bit about how long we wil remain there. Anyone got any ideas to help us poor old Brits on this please.
Brenda

No docs here yet either, but I am patient (yeah, right!).

We arrive on Friday early afternoon, Budget rental, stay at the Radisson, 11am shuttle, and have a post 1 day stay at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront (IIRC, docs are at home right now). Decided on a post stay since the direct flights leave at 11am (a little too early/tight for my taste) or 6pm (2X price and way too late). So rather than have a stressful day hoping we don't miss the flight, we decided on another beach day and we will take the 11am the next day.

Hi Everyone!

I just updated the website with info on the planned DIS meets. It is very easy to make changes, so if further discussion changes the plans, I'll just change the website. I also updated the "Itinerary" grid to use the Departure times from the docs. The "All aboard" times are from the DCL website. I also created a PDF page (Acrobat format - most people already have readers) with the info that is easier to print out than a webpage (no graphics and only the info you need to print.)

Hi Walt & Di and Dyerneeds - I called DCL this morning and have us all linked for dining.

If anyone else is interested in joining us at late seating dinner, I can still add others but that will definitely get us to more than 1 table. We have 9 people linked right now and the largest tables I know of are for 10. Other DIS groups have been able to arrange multiple tables in the same area, so we could always try that if anyone else decides to jump in.

Scrapperjill - I forgot to mention yesterday (I guess I was a little excited about the docs!) that I LOVE the idea of the photo swap. We swapped CDs with one couple from our cruise last year and it was fun seeing all the different pictures. Count us in. My camera isn't as fancy as some of your's (I have a Canon A80) and I only took 280 photos last year, but I'll be happy to share what I have.

Also - someone asked the other day (Scrapperjill?) about if DCL was offering halloween gifts in their on-board gift options last year. Since I was doing a basket from Shirley (Perfect Gift) I never even looked at DCL's options last year - so I just don't know. Sorry. I do know DCL didn't do anything Halloween related on board last year on the Oct23-30 Western.

Doin' the document dance  :cool1:

Dyerneeds,
Thanks for the compliment! I plan on making several more videos when we get back since our next trip to Disney probably won't be for many many years.

scrapperjill,
We saw formal mick & min on both the semi and formal nights. I believe on formal night they were on deck 4 together and on semi-formal night minnie was on deck 4 alone and mickey was on deck three alone. Since I have this thing about minnie, I wanted a photo of us with just Mickey  I am very glad that they were available separately :rolleyes1

11 more days :rotfl:

Hi Ears1253 - Doesn't it feel great to have the docs in hand?!? I know you've been around the thread for awhile - did you want to be included on the "Who's Going" list at the website?

Hi Everyone! I just updated some more stuff - the "charts" on the Useful Stuff page have been updated. I based it mostly on info from the 9/10/05 navigators. The only thing I'm really unsure about is the dinner theme for Tuesday. Last year it was "Around the World menu". The 9/10/05 navigators call it "Master Chef menu". When I did a Google search I found that a few year's ago there was a "Master Chef menu" which later became the "Small World menu" and then the "Around the World menu". I don't know if the food changed at all or if they just changed the name of the menu. Since I am going to Palo that night, it doesn't really affect me - but if we can find out what it really is I will update the charts. The sunrise/sunset times are my best attempt (using various websites). If anyone has different info, please let me know.

Hi fellow Radisson folks - According to the posts in the last day or two, there are 5 groups of DISers at the Radisson on the 21st! Timon - We are on the 10am shuttle with you!

pdarrah

pdarrah,

LOL! That's too funny! :goodvibes I kinda figured another DISer would be on that first shuttle since we know how to plan!!! :rotfl:

By the way, thanks for all your hard work on your website! You've done a great job keeping us all up to date and informed and planning all the meets. I think I speak for all of us when I say how much your work is appreciated! :grouphug:

pdarrah:

Yes, it feels great to have the docs. Thanks for asking about the "who's going" list however, (and hoping I offend no one) my wife is concerned with privacy on the "Net". There is probably some validity to her beliefs. Anyway, we'll know who you are once on board and will identify ourselves accordingly. Thanks for doing all your are. I think it's great. :goodvibes

We are also scheduled for Palo's on Tuesday night. I think around 8-8:30. Maybe we'll run into you there. I can already taste the Chocolate Souffle'. :hyper:

Take care,
Gary

ears1253....I understand your concerns with the net issues...but I really don't think there is anything on that web site that is to much personal information. I guess the city and state that people are traveling from...and first names...but you really don't have to add or include your location (names would be nice ;) ). Then most people just added a little on how many cruises they've been on....or anything special they're doing this cruise (anniversarys...and so on..) Anyways....I really do understand your concerns...you can never be to careful...I just thought I'd let you know what's involved if you hadn't had a chance to look at the page yourself. :)

Oh...I also wanted to let eveyone know we heard back from our TA today...(I was VERY suprised)....and she said DCL worked it out and my parents are back in their original rooms. :cheer2: OH...by the way or TA isn't calling me anymore... :confused3 shes been contacting my mom since she got caught talking all that sh** about me to everyone in the office
