October 22, 2005 Roll call

I've been hanging out on the tee-shirt thread also :teeth: ...Midnite has made some wonderful designs for us to use on our WDW portion :goodvibes ...As you can see....I used her lime-green Mickey head for the button...then did the rest in photoshop :earboy2:

So any more takers on the buttons  ?? MelissaE1?? Anyone??? I know there are more out there.

Oh...and Skallywag...I do have your's with a "G" not a "y" ....like I put in the previous post. :rolleyes1

Scrapperjill,

What a great job on the buttons! I cannot wait to get them!! Thanks for taking the time out to make all of them.

Kathy

Hello, all! Just signed up last week for our first DCL cruise (5 previous on RCCL, Princess, and Carnival), and first cruise for our 3.5yo DD. VERY excited, and a long needed break for sure. Would love to meet some of you folks on board, especially those with similarly aged children (DD hasn't ever met a stranger and loves to play with other kids).

Currently we are Cat 6 GTY, will let you know officially when we find out.

Welcome to the 10/22 group, JeffKiel!

My dd was just past 4 when we went on our first DCL and she had such a great time. If you like cruising you will love Disney cruising! :goodvibes

If you want to know some of the people who are going, pdarrah has set up a great web page here: http://www.bwdarrah.com/dcl/ It also has some links and other great info.

Melissa :)

Welcome JeffKiel! We're definitely planning a cruise meet the first day, but I don't think we've confirmed time or place yet. I see from pdarrah's website you are in Raleigh. We live in Huntersville, just north of Charlotte. We've lived in NC for nine years, and only this year did we actually make it to Raleigh to visit some friends. We liked it a lot.

DH and I are headed to the beach this weekend....always makes me really antsy to be on the cruise ship whenever we go. The NC and SC coast is nice, but just doesn't compare to the turquoise waters of the caribbean! It is our "Big Head Todd and the Monsters" weekend, which is one of my favorite bands. They are playing at a small beach venue, and I just can't wait to go!

Well, gotta get DD in bed...trying to get back on somewhat of a school schedule, but it is much easier said than done....for both of us!

Welcome aboard....Jeffkiel. :wave2: I think we decided on a dis meet the first day at the mickey pool...just before the boad drill...Somewhere around 3ish....But I could be wrong. I don't think we picked an actual location....just "the mickey pool"...It may be a good idea to set a designated side or area of the pool....so we don't have people showing up looking on the oppisite side of the pool. I'd say the side oppisite of the slide...so we can have a good view of the pool..and not be blocked by the Mickey arm or slide....But depending on how busy it is at that time...we may not be able to get real close to the pool....but more by the rail. I think we some how really lucked out last year...with getting lounge chairs right at the pools edge.... :smooth: Anyways....if anyone know's of any other plans for the first meet let me know...before I'm left standing by the pool side waiting and waiting and waiting... :rolleyes1 .

:earboy2:

Any more button takers? I'm just about caught up with what I have so far....And I for sure don't want to wait until the night before we head out making last min button request...so order them while you can. :teeth:

Brenda, My wife Sherry, & friends Brenda & Bob and myself are set to sail on the October 22 cruise, I also looked through the messages for others and didn't find any, could it be too early? Naw that can't be it. In fact its time too start packing.

Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcome. That is the biggest thing that hooked my DW and I on cruising, the friendly atmosphere!

ThreeSmiths: Saw your info on pdarrah's site as well ;) My aunt lives in Huntersville (moved there from Staten Island ~6-7 years ago). I have visited a few times, nice town! We have lived in Raleigh for 12 years and I have been in NC for 18 years (golly, time flys...came here to go to school at UNC and stayed ;) )

DD is so excited about going on the Mickey Boat! I know we will have a wonderful time!

JeffKiel, I see you were way ahead of me. :teeth: Disney people are truly friendly people in general, aren't they? I think that's much of what brings my family back again and again.

Welcome to you, Hyandui. :)

Anyone been checking out the Magic's return thread? There's a great video of her leaving CA. Can't wait for it to be our turn onboard!

MelissaE1, I heard that the Magic goes into dry dock late Setember or early October and that we will be either the 1st or 2nd cruise after the spruce up, can you find any info on this?

Welcome...hyandui :goodvibes The Magic does go into drydock at the beginging of October and we (Oct 22) will be the second cruise to sail after dry dock (the first Western Caribbean cruise). I can't wait to see what changes they make.

Thank you for the info, I wasn't sure, it make for more excitement, I better start packing.

Hi Hyandui - Welcome to the thread!

I know I am going to be watching any "Live from the Oct 15th Magic" thread that my be out there! Actually, I am also wondering if there will be any changes just when the Magic gets back from the West Coast. I have even gone over to the Sept 10th Western thread and asked if anyone there will send me copies of the Navigators for our website.... Since there won't be another Western between the drydock and us, we'll be the guinee pigs for any changes then.

Pdarrah

Welcome to all of our new cruisers! You are correct, the DIS board always seem to have a very friendly group of people. We cruised last year and met some other DISers (Scrapperjill & ThreeSmiths) and are cruising with them again this year!

JeffKiel and Hyandui...

welcome aboard!!!! :cool1:

Okay, I am starting to vibrate with excitement! It's getting so close!!! :goodvibes

Who else is just dying to start packing???? Or am I the only anal one here???

I'm starting to get those bad cruise dreams...last night I dreamt that we were on the cruise, it was our last day and I hadn't taken ANY photos!!!!! :faint: :scared:
That is SCARY to a scrapbooker I tell ya!!

Also, it was a 7 day cruise but it went by so fast in my dream that it was more like a 2 day cruise!!!!

Hi everyone! Welcome newcomers!

Cass, I have not started packing YET, but I have started sorting clothes in the closet according to what I want to take! ;) I looked at your web site again, it looks great! Looks like so much work. If anyone has not been to Cass's site recently (Timon) you really should check it out :flower:

I have lost over 40 lbs since last fall and have just started fitting back into a VERY large wardrobe that has not fit for a number of years, so the clothes I bring on the cruise will not be new, they will be better than new, stuff I have not been able to wear for a number of years!   :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :wizard:

scrapperjill, the bottons look AWSOME! :goodvibes :flower:
I plan on using that in a door sign, is that ok? I am not very creative as far as the signs go, only know how to copy and paste into Word, so my door signs are all pretty simple!

We have 8 weeks from tomorrow

Getting excited!

ScDisneyDawn...that's fine to use in the door sign. Would you like me to send you the one with your screan name? I was also thinking of printing one off for our door also. I did the same thing last year...

Timon...I'm getting excited also. I think getting the buttons going really kick started my excitment (again). I've been getting the packing bug BAD....But have held off...so far  . I have gone over in my head what sort of things we'll need...like "X" number of shorts...shirts... and so on. I have been busy getting things that we'll need. Just small things....but it's been fun. Bad thing though...I've saved the more pricey items for last....like camera battery, media cards (for the girls camera) and my flash....(I want it sooo bad..but I'm thinking I'll just have to wait.

I had my first cruise dream the other night...and it wasn't a real good one either. We were at Key West...and somehow I planned way to many things to do at shore...and didn't even think of all the things that were happening on the ship. To make things worse I had everyone in our group comming to me asking how we were going to do this and that and this and that...they wouldn't stop :confused3 . Luckly I rally haven't planed for much on the cruise at all.

Any more button takers out there....supplies are already bought...so let me have it...there is NO catch :earboy2: ...The kids are starting school next week...so I'll need something to do. If you missed the post a couple pages before...I posted a pic of what the buttons look like.

OK everyone, I finally decided and bought the tickets, we are going on Friday to MNSSHP! Now I have to start on my DD's costume. I usually make them and she wants to be Belle this year. I am not sure if I will have the time to get it done though. We go to a halloween camp out every year by us and the kids get to go trick or treating. It is alot of fun, but is the eary part of October, I just don't know if I could get it done by then. My DS is pretty easy, he always want to be a baseball player, football player or hockey player. Go figure, he is one of those every other day of the year!

ScDizneyDawn, WOW 40 lbs, Great job!!

I haven't even begun to think about packing. I have been too busy planning a Jimmy Buffett party!! We love Buffett and this year's concert is at Wrigley Field over labor day weekend, but we are not going. I keep joking saying I'm not going because it is in Wrigley (I am a die hard White Sox fan :teeth: ), but in reality it is just the hassle of going up there - and there is no parking around the park. So we are bringing the party to us!!

I'm starting to get those bad cruise dreams...last night I dreamt that we were on the cruise, it was our last day and I hadn't taken ANY photos!!!!!
That is SCARY to a scrapbooker I tell ya!!

:earseek: Timon - that is not just scary, that is a nightmare!!

Talk to you all later!

Kathy

Hi Everyone!

Just back from our Big Head Todd weekend at the beach! We had so much fun! The only bad thing was that DH had a scuba dive booked off of Charleston but it got cancelled....I guess that hurricane stirred things up too much. So he was bummed....the guy has no luck with dives! He said that scuba dives are like cruises in hurricane season...you just never know what's gonna get cancelled. His dives that he booked on the Disney cruise last year were cancelled b/c we never made it to Grand Cayman or Cozumel. And his last ocean dive off the NC coast was cancelled due to a tropical storm. Of course we've already booked his dives for this year's cruise. I really hope he gets to go.

Dawn....congrats on 40 lbs gone! :cheer2: That is so awesome! It's great that you hung on to your wardrobe!

Kathy....we are planning on going to MNSSHP on Friday night too! I haven't bought tickets yet b/c I'm afraid of RAIN...and I'm sure the tickets are non-refundable. But I've also been worried that the tickets might be sold out before I get them. Kaylee doesn't know what she wants to be for Halloween yet. Have a great party...I know you'll have a blast!
